Laing Custom Steadicam Group Buy

Dear Sir or Madam:

This is Frank From CAME company , the joey’s colleague who also from CAME company.

Today I saw argue about Vitaliy Kiselev at Reduser forum . I just want everyone know: Vitaliy kiselev get very big profit from this group buying . In fact , 1600USD is not group buying price , it is retail price . Vitaliy got lots of commission fee from LAING company .

Let me explaine all things detail:

A few months ago, David organize LAING (CAME) Steadicam for group buying at reduser. Vitaliy saw it , Vitaliy want to stop this group buying and take over group buying for make profit himeself, So vitaliy tell a lie the existing model is “Beta version”, at the same time , Vitaliy contact laing to producing a new model steadicam which some changed . Then Vitaliy always telling lie to everyone, existing model is “ Beta version” , new model is coming , vitaliy want everyone wait and buy his new steadicam for get big profit from his new group buying. In fact, the excellent model is not “Beta version”, it is working perfect.. and his new steadicam sell 1600USD is also retail price, not group price, Vitaliy will get lots of commission from LAING company for new group buying .

Some people question what is the relation between CAME company and LAING company --- Both of CAME and LAING are manufacture, but CAME also resell other factories products, just like: Tilta, Lanparte and so on , sometimes CAME design and renamed other factory’s products, just like LAING .

When we realized Vitaliy tell a lie, then we designe a new model steadicam with working great and very cheap. Check below link feedback at reduser

Regarding the claims Frank from CAME ...

If CAME is able to directly sell the Laing Red version steadicam, CAME should provide a link to its own information and sales website, which should include a specification sheet and full pricing.

In previous threads we have discussed the relationship between Laing and CAME. It is understood widely that Laing (i.e. Shenzhen Junxiang Technology Co., Ltd) is the original manufacturer of the Laing M02 and the currently availabe Red version which was the subject of the group buy.

CAME (i.e. Xiamin Came Photographic Equipment Ltd) is a re-seller, putting its label on a number of other brands. CAME has a strong Ebay presence (seller name Photolight). Some listings for "Newest Laing stabiliser" appear to show the old Laing M02 model, not the upgraded Laing Red version (re-designed arm, fatter post and gimbal, separate rods for battery and monitor, etc).

The current Red version Laing rig was designed with input from many people on the RedUser forum. Vitaliy Kisilev was simply a messenger to Laing, and somehow ended up as their "representative" and the middleman for current online transactions, based on his previous relationship as an online sales agent for their previous M02 model. We do not know what his commission on sales is. The Red version is shown on Mr Kisilev's website at: http://www.nex-hack.info/wiki/laing-photos ... We do not know why Laing does not have its own website or ebay site. We do not even have an official specification sheet for the Laing rigs. We do not geta sense that Mr Kisilev is very engaged with this forum or is providing any new information or input to this community.

The only email contact we have for the Laing company is: Tracy Xie ... tracyyanmei@gmail.com I am not sure if she is still directly involved in the Red version project. She may be able to answer questions on the selling arrangements.

Wellcome to Reduser Frank
This is interesting

It's odd isn't it ?!
Nowadays it's very hard to invent a new products, but harder to sell it.
Unknown and untested items at a high $price people want to know and see
the manufacturer actively on the market and give away all the inf. of the product, before they will
buy it.
How come Franz you stated We are not frequently online reduser.net ?
I am not saying, that reduser.net is the only one you should be on, but all
of the photo and vedeo, enthusiast/professional sites, amazon or ebey.
It's not my business to tell you how to do your business, but without interest where your customers might be,
is unthinkable.
Your company should hire, even a part time employee on this position to follow and update your product
information.

just my$02.

Everyone here compiling about what-not is coming off pretty annoying.
I have had my rig for a bit, used it on many sets, and have had some issues with it I admit, but just contact them directly via email. They get back to you right away and resolve the issue immediately, really impressive customer service.

They keep upgrading and improving their parts.
There needs to be a new forum for users that have this rig to discuss strictly about the rig, function, trouble shooting, and advice about it.

I'm trying to power up my red one with the cables included in the Laing rig - but I can't. In case I'm missing something I decided to post some pictures.

Here is the cable from the battery connecting to the lower box. Everything ok here

In the next picture the second cable also can be connected to the upper box

And this is the other side of the cable. But it doesn't fit anywhere on the red one. Do I miss a cable ? Is this a power cable for epic or scarlet by any chance ?

The power cable (FGJ 1B size) in the last photo is for Epic (or Scarlet). You need 2B 6-pin power cable for your Red One. However, they should make the connetors in the box Female so you can use the red standard cable like this. http://www.red.com/store/products/dc-power-cable-10
Very weird...

Yeah. Thanks. Probably just a mix-up. I also ordered an additional battery plate from them (when I bought the Laing rig) and I just noticed that is also the wrong one. I just wrote them, hopefully they will remedy the problem.

If anyone is is So. Cal. looking for one. I'm selling my rig with the LEMO boxes + some extra stuff.
Laing sent me some better parts, and i fly a loaded EPIC on a weekly basis, so it can hold it's own. Also have a box of Anton Bauer name brand Pro Pac 13 batteries (7 need to re-cell, 4 are labeled good, but haven't tested). Marshall in pictures, not for sale.

$2500

Does anyone have instructions on how to replace the large springs with the smaller DSLR springs.

So I've just read through the 15 pages. To bring the question up again, where can I buy the fatter post online? All the pictures in ebay or came doesn't show that version.

I bought the Liang RED version system last week - everything arrived nice and well. Initial inspection - everything is very well made, but here is my question:

My vest is 90% tight (my body might too small for the vest to be completely fitted to my shape). With the ISO arms and the sled on (without the camera though), my ISO arms drop really low to the ground. I've already adjusted the tension of the spring to their maximum. This is concerning because the camera isn't even on the sled yet, and the whole set up just seem not to keep up.

Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks!

Maybe you have the thinner springs on ? In my case when I place the sled, the springs are barely flexing - so the opposite compared to your case.

And also opposite seems to be the vest. My body is average (on the skinnier side I'd say) and still the vest is too tight. I adjusted the velcro tapes to the maximum permitted and the vest is still too tight. But I think that's pretty easy to fix. Perhaps by sewing some extension velcro tapes ?

And this company has amazing customer service. Apparently I had a weak part (included in the package by mistake ? ; aluminum made I think) and they sent me another part (made of steel I think) not only free of charge but without me requesting this. The old part works perfectly fine. I didn't even know what to do with the new part, so I set it aside thinking they sent it to me by mistake or something. But after a few days I got an email from them with a video. According to the video I was supposed to cut and destroy the old part and use the new steel part instead.
But I'm not gonna do that for now, especially since they said the old part is probably gonna hold also.

Is this the best customer service or what ? They sent a new part without me requesting it ! :001_unsure:

Thanks Sebastian! I will get in touch with them.

Sebastian - follow their advice. Replace this part. My good advice.

I'm not exactly sure how the "group buy" thing works on Reduser - I selected the link on the first post and submitted my info, but what is the next step? How long does it usually take to get an email?

Do they contact you after a certain amount of people are interested, or how does it usually work? Thanks for your input, and sorry if this has been covered already!
