RED KOMODO vs Canon C70 - Which One For You?

By Indy Mogul

[Austin Allen]

Has anybody used any S16 lenses with the Komodo? I've been curious about getting a S16 Cooke or even Canon zoom lens for handheld work and even a smaller stabilizer setup.

I've seen the info graphic showing how much the Komodo will crop in 2K mode, but haven't seen any real world examples.

I realize there are plenty of other great lenses out there that cover and resolve more, but I love the flaws and look of the S16 lenses.

Austin,

Here's a video with the Komodo with a super 16 TV lens, PENTAX/COSMICAR 8-48mm F1.0 LENS , with the 2K crop of the Komodo.

Actual sample footage starts at the 2:19 minute mark

Additional info from YouTube page.

"Had this lens laying around for a while because none of the adapter on the market fits this lens due to its large read mounting plate. So I've decided to make a mod to fit my komodo's RF mount as the RF has a bigger opening.

***Beware this is a super16 TV lens, will not cover your full frame or super 35 sensor. Goes well with KOMODO's 2k crop and has a bit vignetting especially from 10-20mm."

The Youtuber doesn't seem to believe in any kind of Pacing or framing and composition, but there are some good good night examples in this video.
