  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

KOMODO....

Rand,
Thank you so much for posting ALL of your youtube/vimeo link suggestions! I appreciate that a lot.

*edit: hahah... when I saw Tim's pocket knife, I was hoping he had a first aid kit under the table.

You probably slept in for a second or so.... You can't use MFT mount lenses on Komodo.

Maybe, but the transcript seems to say something different (emphasis mine)...

JARRED: And that Voigtlander .95 lens, I f*cking love that lens, and it's such a shitty lens, optically if you actually measured it but I mean I...

PHIL: This is my newest .95...

(Laughing)

PHIL: It's a little big.

JARRED: It's a monster, but I love that Voigtlander on the Komodo.

Thomas,

I didn't do much of anything, but you're welcome! I just appreciate anything the current owners of the Komodo cameras can provide to further add to our knowledge about it.

erm...after watching this conversation one more time, I gotta say you're right, Jamison. Jarred said that (0.95 voigtlander lens (MFT Mount?) on komodo), but I have no idea how to get this done, because...even if an adapter would put the lens closer to the sensor, the MFT lenses might have a smaller image circle...I guess too small for Komodos 6k FF sensor size. But I don't care anyway. No matter, actually, if f/0.95 or f/1.1-1.8 up to f/2.5 (VM) for maximum aperture...both offer an extremely shallow DOF.

BTW, Phil's 0.95 lens could have been a new Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 (EF Mount, according to its size), smaller and lighter variant for RF Mount available, too. Here's the link:

I'm probably about to delete these off my harddrive , don't know yet. So if anyone is interested, here's a dropbox link with a folder with two seperate folders, one with the first set of Komodo colors I did and another with the new set of solid color ideas for Komodo, 54 total colors. They were spread over a couple of pages so I just thought I would organize them here.

Here's also a link to the 115 graphic ideas I had for Komodo.

Hover to the left of the "Name" at the top of the page. An empty box will appear "check" it and you will be able to download all the files in the folder at one time.

Karim, here you go
Thank you! :-D

Imagine what they can do with this global shutter tech in much larger sensors in DSMC3.
Yyyyyyyup!

You can't use MFT mount lenses on Komodo.
I disagree. Some will not only cover the sensor, but infinity is not a problem for any M4/3 lens. The RF mount is significantly wider than M4/3, allowing the lens to sink in just a little bit. I have one Olympus lens that covers S35 just fine. I will do formal tests eventually. You can't control aperture though.

Here's a Video that says it was shot on Red Komodo. but can't really verify it. Maybe Jarred can.

Hey everyone, first time posting into this thread but I've been keeping an eye on it for the last few hundreds of pages :) I watched your unboxing video Tim and noticed that the Komodo came packaged with a Canon RF to EF adapter in the box. Will the production models also be coming with the adapter in the box? Or will that be something that we need to purchase separately? Not that its a big deal to buy one but I just don't want to have two of them haha.
