KOMODO....

Do we have the firm confirmation that Komodo will have a fixed mount?
I don't trust adapters to be honest, especially when using a beautiful, heavy and expensive lens like the Hawk anamorphic zoom..

As for Nikon lenses, the advantage those have over Canon is in the Zeiss line-up with their manual aperture ring, Cine quality + Cine feature in a still size lens, the perfect combo with Komodo to me..

I have adapters for Zmount to PL on my Nikon. They're pretty good. RF to Nikon will be an easy adapter too.

That's really small! impressive.
I wonder if it ever could be a shoulder camera or more a handheld/gimbal camera?

Why not? With Global Shutter its totally made for small hand held gimbal.

Excellent for gimbal use or mounted camera. But on a shoulder? It's so tiny you should build more stuff around it to have it on your shoulder, like v-lock battery and an audio and teradek module... (?)
I'm impressed by the achievement.

I honestly miss the early days of discovering how to wrestle Red #351 into doing what I wanted... and then discovering with the next build that it could now do something I didn't even know I suddenly needed it to do.

I am really looking forward to reliving that experience with Komodo #AsSoonAsICanOrderIt

In a completely unrelated note, my birthday is in January.

Really excited to add this camera to my kit. I know you have a camera to finish building but if I may, I'd love some version of what Fuji has done with their tilt evf adapter. Something like this on top of Komodo without wires would be really incredible. The ergonomics are fantastic.

I am also curious if the Fujinon MK lenses could mount to this camera?

Theoretically possible with a modification on the lens. I bet Duclos could do it. I know Duclos at one point explored an EF mod option, but abandoned it. I wonder if they'll possibly look into the project again, this time for RF. Should be less of a challenge due to more similar flange depths.

We need a Cyber Truck version of Komodo.....

Hopefully with stronger glass. :)

Frankly, since Jarred stated that one if his favorite camera ever is the Mamiya RZ67 and we know there's a screen on top of Komodo, I really suspect a viewfinder like this will come out. Maybe not from RED but someone like Zacuto and the others third party stuff makers.

Actually i think is possible. For example MTF adapter confirmed me they are working on an adapter for Fujinon MK lenses to fit on Leica L mount which has the same flange distance as Canon new mount. This is possible only on these lens since they have a back focus adjustment. Send an email to MTF adapter and asked them and tell them about this new camera Komodo and they will for sure make an adapter.

But the image circle on those lenses is smaller than Komodo's sensor so you won't be able to use the lenses in 6KFF anyway.

A Tesla Cyber Truck version? TIG eight sheets of stainless steel to it in the way that impedes its usability and with the aesthetics of a late 1970s sci-fi film?

Sorry, still irked. I have been thinking on the hardware and capability that Elon was leaking and working up to convincing myself that this could be a replacement for my work truck.

It is not.

I’ve already preordered. I think it’s going to be a bit more refined when it hits the market. The demo truck didn’t even have windshield wipers, so clearly not finished. It’s gonna take most people time to a adapt to this thing. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear a lot of those who previously bashed the cybertruck changing their tune later on. I think we can give Elon Musk the benefit of that doubt that the finished product is going to be compelling.

As for Komodo... to me, pairing Komodo with a truck that looks like it belongs on a movie set seems like a no brainer.

That cyber truck is ugly AF!

I did a quick search and didn't spot anything that answers this... perhaps I missed it.

But will there be a pre-order option available for Komodo, for those who are looking to use Q4 funds by December 31st?

I'm with you. Been dreaming about this for a while. Current EVFs are too huge. One of the things I like about Canon Cinema Line is their small EVFs.

Mark Toia suggested the same thing on FB referencing the Fuji cam. So we're not alone. Hopefully a solution will emerge...

There is a reason pickup trucks look the way they do, and it is all about what they have to do. There is some pushing around of the envelope, but this version ONLY belongs on a movie set... okay I suppose cruising around the city so that people see you in a vehicle that looks like it belongs on a movie set is the other option. How well can you see the ground in front for approach angles and obstacle avoidance? How does it handle over-sized loads taller than the cab? Can you jacknife a fifth wheel trailer without crushing the bed sides that rise up to the roofline? How do you grab a chainsaw out of the front of the bed when those bed sidesare above your eyeline? Can you even install a fifth wheel hitch?

I could have lived with something I considered to be ugly but was amazingly functional, but this is form at the expense of function.

Elon should consider putting some test units in the oil patch, logging industry, and landscaping- and take their feedback seriously. Most pickups don't do much work, but the sales overall will suffer if your pickup CAN'T work.
