I'm curious, are those in love with swappable OLPFs will be able to continue the romance with the small dragon?

Serious question. Is it a security issue? Wondering if I should stop.

What are you talking about ?

Andrew, when Jarred said "it's too soon man", I think he meant to say that the Hydrogen saga is perhaps a bit too fresh in everybody's heart and soul at RED to feel like it's time to talk about it at length and answer your question as to why he's using an iPhone and not a hydrogen.

Could they be looking at partnering with Apple or other major phone makers to produce a next version Hydrogen model? The media machine concept shouldn't die with H1. There are many good functional ideas that came out of H1, like the external memory card slot, the finger grip frame, pogo interface. Some sort of advanced internal camera design would be nice too, though a 4k daylight viewable HDR screen would be more practical than LEIA IMO.

I suspect he's talking about the fact that H1 is seriously lagging in terms of Android security updates, and that as a potential high-value target you have switch to a device that presents a more robust security profile.

Historically, where/how are pre-orders announced for new cameras? (e.g., Reduser, Red.com, email blast, etc.)

Why would you not use hydrogen. Is it because android and google are less secure than Apple? Wondering if I should stop using my Hydrogen also.

I use Google almost exclusively on my Iphone. No idea which is less secure but I just like iphone better than android for many reasons... have been an iphone user since the first one. As per hydrogen security and updates, I really couldn't tell you, different company different team remember. I do use a Hydrogen though to control my Komodo.. the battery lasts forever.

Usually be me here and on facebook / instagram. But Red.com follows pretty quick now.

Not the reason why I don't use a Hydrogen phone, but that is why I use macs. Apple just released a great security white paper yesterday that's worth a read.

The Hydrogen adventure has ended.

Yes, as a separate company and manufacturing venture. That’s not what I’m suggesting.

What about licensing a custom model from Samsung or Apple with Hydrogen media machine features?

Oh ok my bad. ^^
That would be an interesting idea. But I would rather have that on a tablet (even if it's a small one like iPad Mini)

the thing is Jared is a very smart man he diffidently was telling us something when he said "shhhh its too soon". i dont think it had anything to do with the hydrogen dying.
I agree i feel there could be some kind of app to to use the iphone hardware like it was a hydrogen.
from what i have gathered it seem to be if for the most part the Komodo was done they were just tweaking and working out the phone connections ext but i thought that was said to be even done too.

and also like the Raven and dragon x you will most likely be able to buy this on apple.com

i could picture the AD "Now for the after burner card r3d support with a Komodo beside the Mac pro Tower"

Hey Jarred, are you ready to detail more accessories such as hydrogen cradle that attach to Komodo???

Jarred has mentioned that the Hydrogen-specific cradle that uses the pogo pins and magnets on the back of the Hydrogen is no longer being developed. They are now making a more generic cradle that will work with any ios or android phone and will connect via USB-C or lightening. IIRC an android app will be released first, followed by ios.

Does amy watch Marvel Runaways if so did any see season 3 episode 6 at the start there is some in the show near the atart there is some kind of phone ad Using a Hydrogen but its called Corvous by wizard lol there at least a dozen or two in the show... im glad they are being used
