Hey Guys - New Komodo-X user here and have a question regarding running a 98w V-Mount battery on the built-in v-mount and also using the D-Tap output to power a 3rd party accessory (DJI Lidar + Focus Motor)

Basically want to power my DJI Lidar + Focus Motor so I can run it without the gimbal however this requires per the manual (7v-16v) power supply and the only cable I can find to deliver this is this one. Others have confirmed it works to power it but I'm mostly worried about any risks to the camera.

Is there any harm in using this cable plugged into the v-mount d-tap while attached to and also power my KX?

I don't want to fry my camera with a $13 cable.

Thank you - SL

I gather that the cable won't connect to the camera at all-- it'd only be between the battery and the DJI unit, right? And the DJI units are only mechnically connected to the camera and lens, right? So how would it fry the camera?

Please don't take this as an answer-- I'm really wondering if there's cause for concern. And it is possible that you could damage either the battery or the DJI unit with a bad cable (though here also I don't think that's especially likely-- it would have to be a defective cable).

Thanks for the reply. No the proposed situation is the V-Mount battery IS connected to the back of the K-X powering the camera and I would also be using that same V-Mounts d-tap output to power the DJI LiDAR and focus motor via a cable that can carry up to 24v.
