  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Komodo shipping?

Damn, I was just about to ask if anybody knows about the situation in germany. But that sounds pretty bad. I‘ll have to wait until ever :mad2:
 
That’s serious back order going on! On the days of Red One, we got more infos on delivery batch by serial Nr. than what’s going on with Komodo.

What worries me more is the inexistence of any words from the CEO about that matter.
 
I wonder if Blackmagic or Sony releases a box-style global shutter camera before I get my komodo...

I think we'll see a few of those at NAB for sure

Even if they did there’s no guarantee they’d ship much faster. I did get an A1 quickly, but I’ve been after an FX6 fir a while too and they’re just about as scarce as Komodo.

And as we all know, it's not just high-demand cameras. Automakers like Ford and Chevy have parking lots packed, literally bumper-to-bumper, with otherwise finished vehicles that are just waiting on certain microchips. There was a story on the local news last week about one of the counties and the alcohol/liquor shortage they've been experiencing, because of a shortage of drivers to deliver it, shortage of glass for some manufacturers to bottle it and the increased demand since restaurants and bars have been allowed to fully reopen. And I just got back from eating lunch at my friends deli and he was telling me about all of the items that he has been shorted lately, every week by his distributor. Numerous items he has been out of for several weeks and has no idea when they'll be able to fulfill his orders. The demand for vehicles is about as crazy as the housing market, right now. I was talking to a fireman I know while waiting on lunch and he told me about a friend of his who bought a used truck last year for $25K and was at the dealership getting the oil changed last week and they offered him $35K cash for it.

Just to let you know, I had some awesome luck yesterday, because Videodata hab 1 production pack in stock and I was able to order it and got my Red Komodo today. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

It could be worth to watch out for the packages and have a look at Videodata as well (not only Teltec).
 
Hey, we also recieved our unit today. I was really suprised to be honest. I guess the woman at Teltec gave me wrong information on the phone. We waited nearly 8 months finally its here :)

Pretty good! For all other German guys that can’t wait, Videodata has another production pack in stock atm...
 
Just to keep the information flowing…

Ordered Body Only (along with other accessories) via B&H March 03, 2021. It just shipped today (July 30)

Called July 29 and they said THEY would get it (hopefully) by September 5. Then I got the email the next day.
 
Body only order just arrived. Placed Feb 4th. Hallelujah but damn that was a wait...
 
B&H just hit my card and the order status changed to "in progress"

Ordered body only on April 4th
 
Ordered May 21st from Red, got email for allocation Aug 2nd. They said ship date is estimated at Aug 16 at the latest. Body only
 
Ordered body only from B&H Feb 9th, delivered yesterday 8/4. A note of appreciation for all those at Red and their suppliers who have managed to keep building Komodos despite challenges brought by the pandemic. Not hard to imagine the hard work and long hours put in by some to keep the wheels turning
 
Ordered Komodo Starter Kit from Unique Photo on 3/27. Just got a shipping notice today (8/13). I'd expect it to arrive early next week.

Edit: Got it 8/16. Little under 5 months

I placed an order on august 11th, it said estimated shipping between 8-10 weeks.

Do you guys think that's reliable?

Seems plausible. Units appear to be shipping out a bit quicker now than they were a few months ago.
