Hello Everyone,

Just got my self a Red Komodo and RS2 but having trouble fit my komodo on rs2 when using large/heave lenses, the battery at the back just keep hitting the gimbal, i was thinking may be there is some other options for battery that are approved instead of Canon BP

For larger lenses remember you can power Komodo via a D-Tap>DC-IN cable and the battery doesn't need to be near the camera.

And if you have larger rigs than that you'll want to aim at larger gimbals that can handle such things. But the battery to cable thing is pretty much going to solve all your pains.

You can use counterweights also, this can shift the balance and the camera might not need to be this far back to center the weight distribution.

You should check out this video, he uses small counterweights and BP 955 batteries instead of the larger ones and he seems to get away with larger/heavier lenses while having some issues, but workable apparently.

Also for reference, I think this is the counterweight kit used in the video:

Thank you guys, i will check that now, my BP-975 are still on the way so i use my friends ones, but its a good idea to swap them with a smaller option just to fit in.

But i was thinking of having the battery attached to DJI RS2 somewhere on the side or on the bottom, or just use a power cable and attach a battery on the belt, does anyone can advice what kind of mount i can use or what batteries?

To keep the overall weight of the gimbal/camera package down so you don't have to support it with your arms, you could get pretty much any "brick" battery(gold mount/v-mount) that has a power tap out(most do, today) and put it in a backpack or hip pack and run a long power tap cable from there to the handle and secure it on the handle somewhere and then with enough slack, run that to the camera. Just make sure there's enough slack/no tension so as not to interfere with the movement and balance of the gimbal.

Even though these type gimbals are intended for small(er) low(er) powered cameras, it would be nice if they were internally wired with connections for power and signal on the platform for connecting to the camera and somewhere on the handle or base of the gimbal for power and signal.
