Hi, everybody, I’ve been toying around with a Mamiya 645 version of the Kipon Baveyes medium format speed booster and I had hoped to use it with the 500mm 5.6 but there seems to be vignetting of some kind. Has anybody else tested this combo? I’ve heard that certain Mamiya 645 lenses just don’t work with the Kipon Baveyes speed booster at all so is this one of them?
While I don’t have a Mamiya 645 film camera, the lens seems to work just fine with a straight Mamiya 645 adapter to my Sony A7S. I have had to take my Mamiya 645 500mm apart to clean it as I noticed some edge fungus or general dirtiness and I’m very sure I put it back together right optically according to a map diagram I found including most of the other Mamiya 645 lenses, however a flipped element is always a possibility. Naturally this happened before I could test it with the speed booster. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
