  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"B I G" change of plans for the Filming of my first Motion Picture "The RED dress" Movie!!

I just got a very interesting e-mail, I won't post the sender nor the direct contents of it, but I fill the need to share my take on the reply right here, so that will answer some questions for others before they actually even need to make them, and the main question was:

"Why am I willing to go back to the USA to make my first Movie when I left the USA to move back to Italy in order to make this movie, and had given up many opportunities in the USA and elsewhere just to be so stubborn and wanting to come back to Italy to do it?"

Well, the answer would actually be a very complex one, first I had to move back to Italy for a series of reasons, some were open for dispute, while other were absolutely not!

I came back to Italy because of my health issues, which as many of you know are quite severe.

I came back to Italy because one of my beloved ones had fallen in to Alcoholism and my sister had told me over and over that I would have been the only one to bring this beloved one out of it.

I came back to Italy because the sister that had risked all for me given me one of her kidneys and saving my life, needed me desperately.

I came back to Italy because I had a good amount of state of the Art equipment, and I was to be the first in Italy with this equipment which I was let to believe would have yielded me a many great and well paid jobs in the industry in both 2D and 3D.

I came back to Italy because I tough that I would had a better chance to make my first movie here with much lesser of a budget, and I also would have pretty much loved that my first movie was made in my own country.

Oh, and lastly, as many also know I came back to Italy because I had a Megaproject in the works.

This are the reasons why I came back to Italy.

But now two years later everything has changed, lets not discuss each element individually, no need for that, other then the fact that absolutely NOTHING went the way it was supposed to, and I am starting from ZERO again!!


However, I am actually doing good enough health wise to afford any traveling and any amount of hours of work per day per extended periods no problem, and for this I can afford to go any were in the world to do this movie, but most importantly I have come to the conclusion that no matter how much I love my country and wish to make this project here, it will be actually crippling it not helping it, and that I can not allow to happen. Fact is that the incredible amount of pledged support is coming in HUGE part from the USA, and this for the good of the project I must take in consideration, when i am to do a Film with little to no capital, and expecting a successful Crowd-Funding campaign to further help, and then there is Post, and Distribution which again puts the USA first on my list.

For this I decided what I have decided and will move full force ahed with it knowing in my heart that I have just made the best decision I could have made for the good of my Movie, and all that I hope, is that I'll continue to have your support now more then never!!

I want to share here a post I made on the new EVF mount thread, this little thing truly ROCKS!!

I'll be showing off several other configurations of how great thins new little EVF mount is for super light hand held shooting on the RED Epic, were you only have the Brain, Side Handle Grip, EVF Mount, Bomb EVF, Top Handle or Side handle or both, Lens of choice and is it!

I need to say that this is the "IT" this is the perfect EVF mount I had been waiting for since day one of the new Bomb EVF, it is super small and light, it is extremely well designed, and I can't believe that it actually allows to remove the small EVF bottom piece so that this mount actually fits in it's place under the EVF chassis, it is so well tough out my hands go to the RED design team again here, the Nato Rail mount is stronger then the rail mounts them selves, mostly do to the fact that has no classic spacings but it is a solid piece all the way thru, and it is perfect even for the Top Handle with the RED PRO 9" LCVD mount it on it as I have it.

Of course the real beauty of this EVF mount is that it is all I'll use in Hand held set ups making it the smallest, smartest, best fit yet for the Epic and Scarlet.

These two years have been terrible for everyone (in Italy). I hope to meet you before you leave.

Indeed Luca, love the new EVF mount so much, no more having to carry around the big and heavy ET mount, yet that has it's place for sure, but absolutely not for handheld, for that type of set ups, this new EV F mount Rocks big time!!

The R90, is an other story all together I always travel with that in my bag now, as you never know when you'll need to just flip the camera and get that perfect Portrait shot... ;)

I am also sorry to have to go away from Italy (again) but I tried ever so hard to make things work, but they just don't, so I will not sacrifice the good of my projects just to do things in my country, I just can't, no matter how much I love it!!


Plus ignoring the LOVE and the INSANE support I get form my fellow colleagues and the Industry in LA, would be absolutely stupid on my side, and I have done so for4 the past two years for reasons behind my control, no more...

Time to start a NEW chapter in my life...

The DEFINITIVE one... ;)


It would be nice to meet you before I go, let me know if you are near Modena at any time and we'll meet up, or if I go to MIlan to film something before I go back to LA I'll ket you know.


But unless there was a DRAGON flying over Italy I doubt I will shot anything in Italy before I go, as all hands now are on to selling all my gear and go to LA to film the Short for "The RED dress" Movie.
