  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

KETCH ROSSi

thanks buddy.

Always my pleasure Will!!

Why the vertical fashion shots Ketch? Are these for the short also?

Yes Sergio, the story calls for a Fashion shooter, that is why you see the shots of the R90 for the Portrait mode shots, which I'l be posting by no later then end of this week.

You've been quiet.

What do you think of the Dragon Sensor VS MX?

What about those Summilux C Primes? Better than MP?

Ha ha... Yes I have... been very busy this past few weeks... ;)

The short is now entering Folly, Sound Track, Y sound Mix.

And I have finally started with Frame Pulling, to work on it, very little by the looks of the RedLogFilm files, and then I'll start posting them in A new Dragon thread.

I'll be starting a new thread by Next Week... In it my tough of my Amazing Experience with Dragon, yet just the start of what is to come. I'll discuss in detail what I think and where it stands vs. the MX, no side to side comparisons, even so I shot "The RED dress" short film with the Dragon and the Mono MX, and also took some Fashion shots with both in Portrait mode for prints, also looking forward to showcase the Short on a 4K screening here in LA.

As for the Leica Summilux C. primes, I agree with Jim (Jannard that is) as they are simply the most amazing set of lenses I ever used as far as power of resolve and look and they are an absolute perfect match for the Red Epic Dragon, yet I still like much better the Master Primes as far as Build and design.

Humm, yeah I could I guess, also thinking about Odemax, but ultimately this was a collaborative piece shot while having a load of fun with Dragon, and even so I have also purposely shot some Portrait slowMO Fashion with it at Red Studios, I will have to see what is best for the message within the short and it's purpose overall.

Looks like DragonM8 is getting some new toys coming in... Canon Ti Motion Mount on the way... Oh, and RED sure does know how to package their Goods... Love it!!

Things will get better, keep pushing it despite all the negativity. Friends will be friends. Rest will rest in pieces.

As per Ketch's request this thread is now open again. Please all behave. Thank you.

Thanks Martin!!

Decided to re-open this thread for several reasons, amongst them one been that of wishing to continue to be actively involved in this FANTASTIC community to serve it there were I can and were any one visiting the thread would find anything useful and wished to ask further questions, now it can again do so directly here, other then trying to PM me here on Facebook or Twitter or email me, or just PM me any way you want, I'l always make time to answer questions, ALWAYS!!

I am here to help in any way I can, as I have always been, and hoping to continue to contribute to those that need it, in one way or an other.

BTW....

Meet the new M8...

DragonM8

NOW I do have some imagery to show, and I wish to take this opportunity to thank the "3" most important people that made DragonM8 a possible Dream...

This 3 very special people are:

JIM JANNARD, for the friendship and for believing in the impossible and creating "IT"!! (BTW: we miss you terribly in this Forum Jim).

JARRED LAND, for the friendship and for the support as I have never received by any other company before!!

STEVE GIBBY, for the friendship and for becoming my associate and allowing me to have M8, now my Dream Camera... DragonM8!!

Then there is the ENTIRE "RED TEAM " to thank for this incredible NEW camera known as the "DRAGON" as it has blown my mind away, and I am still trying to piece it back together... My Brain there is... ;)

"VENETIAN NIGHT AT PALAZZO STERN"

An incredible experience in the most unique city of Venice Italy, were I met new friends and fellow Reduser Thorn, and experienced a level of collaboration like never before!!

VENETIAN NIGHT AT PALAZZO STERN "MAKING OF" By colleague and friend Thorn.

Today is one of those days...
You stop and think about your Dreams for Cinema and how Life always brings HUGE challenges to impede their realization...
Some harder to overcome then others...

And while I had my share of those...
I NEVER give UP!! I Always PERSEVERED!!
A time comes when you MUST say... NOW or NEVER!!
That time has come for me... Money or not...
I will make my first Film for the big screen out of one of my Scripts!!
If I was to be told I could only do one last thing, this would be it!!!
I am ready for the GREATEST challenge of my life!!
Must choose the Country were to finally do it! USA... ITALY... Or... :)

This is what I wanted to take off my chest today, so I did... :)

Wish every one out there with as big as Dreams as mines, to Pursue them, Persevere them, no matter what, and simply wishing every one the very best in life!!

>>I NEVER give UP!! I Always PERSEVERED!!

Kubricks first film "Fear and Desire" embarrassed him so much that he destroyed all copies of it and always felt uncomfortable talking about it,

He never gave up also and his second and third film showed that he learned a lot from his mistakes.

Ketch, did you consider doing it in 3D? If you do it or consider doing a 3D conversion afterwards I'll be honored to feature it in my sites.

Thanks Lakis!!

I always learn from my mistakes, which I usually make lots of them because i simply am not afraid of making them for the sake of experience, and since I am always running things as one man band with no one telling me what to do, it makes it easier...

But this time I must simply just make a Feature film, enough of waiting around for all to be perfect...

What ever I do, I know I will do great at it, even if it comes out a total commercial disaster... I, at last, would have made a Feature, and surely have learned more then I ever did by making all that I did so far...

But I doubt very much that this project will be a failure, not only because how much time I have spent in to it refining it, but how much time I'll put in to it now for the final development and preproduction of it before going in to production, and when I do I'll also be sure to carefully and systematically choose all to be involved form Crew to Talent!!

While I have stopped talking about it, I am still considering shooting in 3D, as I continue to have particular love for 3D, and when done right it can surely give so much more to the story.

But will all have to be seen as far as what I can be able to get as funding for it, which will determine if I can do it as an original acquired 3D film, and or if funds become available sonly after it's execution, if a Conversion will be desirable or not.

Either way, even if initial funding do not allow for a 3D acquisition, I will still shoot it with possible 3D conversion in mind, were I will carefully direct the lighting and scenes compositions to allow for that extra depth and separation as to be more easily identified and further separated in post, should I choose to go for it later on.
