  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

KETCH ROSSi

... I have not seen yet, in fact this comes at a total surprise, as I was not aware they did that, I guess they wanted to surprise me... ;) ... Do you have the Magazine it self or the Digital edition, can you post a pic of the spread?

I have the actual magazine. The picture is one of a girl in a carnevale type mask-w- peacock feathers. It takes up both pages. I would have to scan the magazine in order to post the picture ... and because of the fold ... it really wouldn't do justice to the picture.

However, here is the text from the lay-out:

"KETCH ROSSI is a modern still + motion artist. After seeing the possiblities of the new wave of cameras and realizing what it could mean for his style, he sold his still camera and video equipment. "I sold all my still camera and video equipment, and am doing everything on the RED EPIC cameras, filming at now 5K ultra-high resolution up to 120 fps, and I've been able to extract 14-megapixel RAW frame grabs. I've evolved so much in frame-grabbing from the motion stream that I couldn't ever go back to still photography alone, plus all my models love it, too. They feel like posing actresses, no longer just models, and every single one so far has preferred working in this way with continuous lighting versus flash, and so have the clients."

This still frame was pulled from 5K RED EPIC motion footage and graded by KETCH ROSSI."

Thanks Bill,

I actually now have the digital subscription, I have seen the image, and it is one of my favorite girls, but something must have happened to it in the process, as it has some
artifacts of post work in the eyes, this was a very last minute thing, not sure what is that I must have done wrong, to the image prior export and upload, hopefully this does not show on print, but I now have double checked all other images being exported and uploaded to the server... ;)

However the next Issue will sport several images which I am very proud of and look forward for every one to see published... ;)

Must say, and not because I'm in it, DPP, its a great Magazine, lots of articles on lots of different work, tech and stuff, love it, and love RED's presence there too... ;)

Congrats Ketch!

Thanks Jon,

again, I wish the image didn't suffer from the color problem in the eyes, but is nice to have a great Magazine like DPP publish your work, and I hope every one will love the Article on me and the images to be featured in the next issue, which will also sport my most recent work here in Italy.

What great also is to see RED and the Epic all over the Magazine, along with a great double spread advertisement form RED, pretty cool.

Only you would know ... but the print of the image look good. Her eyes are a wonderful shade of green, you can see the reflections of light in them, just a hint of the red blood vessels in her right eye, and her lashes are clearly defined with excellent resolution ... even to the extent of bring able to see the powder in some of her eye make-up. I wouldn't worry about it!

Good to hear, thanks for the info Bill, not sure then what it is on the Digital copy, might be also my monitor stretching the pixel far beyond their resolution on the actual Digital version, that is what happens when we are on the technological edge, not all material is Retina Display ready... ;)

Congrats Ketch! Another proof of your fine work, it seems :)

Can you post the picture here?

Thanks Patrick!

Its good to see RED al over the Photography Magazine, and the Photo Digital Pro is full of great info.
