  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

KETCH ROSSi

Can't wait to see more Ketch, looks like a lot of fun. That is a sweet looking stabilizer that Jon has. Would love to learn more about it. Have some shooting to from boats this spring and that looks like it just might be the answer.

Jon, it has been a true pleasure meeting and working with you, look forward for our next shoot together!!

The final output at 4k for this Dubai project is sure going to drop mouths... ;)

Not sure what mic Joseph is using on his Z1, sorry Andy.

Best of luck at the Dubai Film Festival Charles, and sorry fro not been able to make it, still hard at work and now we are down to just my self and Tony.

Yeah Aaron, as I say many times before, the Ti PL mount is rock solid, and so is the RPZ 18-85, however I use it with NO support on specific situations, while doing so with care,
as not to risk damaging the PL mount on the actual lens, but I have worked for many years with Canon bodies and very large Super Telephotos with NO support as well,
and never damaged a single camera or lens, but I strongly suggest for any one else not to do it, unless you are a Pro and really know what you are doing t and have experience on
how to move the camera around with such big heavy lenses.... ;)

Thanks Mike,

tone more coming for sure, the Mini Gyro Stabilizer holds okay results, but it is not an easy tool to use, as Jon can attest for, it becomes really heavy really fast... ;)

Here is Tony Augustinack prepping Joe jenning's flying Epic with Duclos's 11-16, you wouldn't believe the shots we got... ;)

And this is a thirsty little friend I found in Dubai, is going for my Berries Shake... ;)

That monkey looks friendly! Say, sorry to insist, but what brand is that hood you are using over the 5 inch LCD screen? (I guess it's the original touchscreen from Red, right?)

Sorry I didn't answer Enrique, yes using the RED 5" Touch Screen, and the hood its the Hoodman 5.6" http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/749038-REG/Hoodman_H_R5_6_5_6_Monitor_Hood_for.html

The monkey is super friendly, too cute to have around, as all the girls go to him, but good Girls magnet... ;)

Ketch - or anyone else!

Do you think this would be good for 5'' touchscreen - as it gives you an access point to touch the screen?

I think that is a decent option, however given its limited size, I think there will be quite a bit of ambient spill coming up from the bottom and potentially glaring off the screen. I guess you pick your poison. Have a glare free screen or be able to actually use the touch screen to change camera settings when you need to without having to ate off the hood.

He he, I tried, but the monkey long nails didn't activate the sensor on the LCD... ;)

Chris, with the Hood on, there is no flairs form any were, but you still do get reflections of yourself on the Screen unfortunately do to his high reflective characteristic,
like Apple Screens, we wish for a Antiglare model, just like we wished so for the iPad... ;)

I used to have a protective/anti-glare screen cover for my iphone 3G - i wonder if they have one for monitors?

I like the way you have the monitor and top handle mounted...how are you doing that?

By simply screwing one center bolt on to the top handle, but I have done this in a much better way, just that I had left the other pieces at home, so I mounted this way.

Hi Ketch,

I read that you have BlueShape batteries, if you don't mind me asking which batteries size or watts do you have and how many do you have to get by on a shoot? Not much info on them except they are made in Italy.

Love to hear your thoughts on it...whenever you get a chance.

Sounds like you had a blast in Dubai.

Hi Ava,

I have RED Bricks, 140's, I don't travel with them, then I have the Blueshape 100's for travel, and Blueshape 210's for super heavy duty, plus the Bebob Rouge 90's also for travel, and 140's.

Usually on an all day shoot of about 8 hours shooting, I go thru about 12 REDVOLTS and 6 V-Lock 90's or 100's bricks, when local and I use the 140's I use only about 3 of them,
remember that I don't drain the battery, I hot swap them beofre they are completelly drained, I always avoid the camera powering off do to exausted battery, its bad for the battery and for the camera when that happens.

Yeah definitely had a Blast in Dubai, I know I'll see more of it too... .;)

Hope to see you in Istanbul Rossi ...We don't have gelato or espresso but we have our own version Maras ice cream and Turkish coffee which is stronger than a double shot espresso plus you can get a fortune teller after you finish your coffee :)
