  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My pleasure Dharmendra, and more is coming, I'll post them on the same page as to keep them all together, but will make a new post to update so that those which have subscribed to the page can get an update, all videos should be up in the next few days.

Then the new one I'm doing for Epic and Fashion should take not too long.

However the Huge amount of Video and Photos will start coming as we begin Principal photography on Rape of a Beauty, here in Rome.

We look to start shooting some plates and a small Trailer during the Month of September, possibly in 3D, Principle Photography in October/November depending on final casting, the Script is still going out to various resources.

it has been several years now, unfortunately I am very demanding on how and in which conditions this project should be done and this has delayed things more then once, but no matter what, it is important that it gets made my way, and preferably as a NO BUDGET film with no STAR power, but the way it was meant to be.
 
I can appreciate that. My wife and I are in the process of opening a movie theater, something that we first talked about doing 9 years ago on one of our first dates. All of the sudden, lots of people's opinions have flooded in as far as what we should do!

Yeah, I learned early on that there are always too many nay sayers and know it al better then you, even so they never done them selves and have no clue what you really are after... ;)

GO FOR IT!!

Hope to have my films at your Theater soon, but better have a 4K Projector ... ;)
 
Great News Ketch, that you begin principal photography on 'Rape of a beauty' potentially in Oct/Nov as you say. My best wishes are always with you! Looking forward to your posts as you make progress in your endeavors.

don't worry, there is no way you'll miss what we'll be doing on Rape of a Beauty's set, as we'll have several ON set Photographers and Videographers to document the Making of Like on other Film to date, and we'll be posting Photo Galleries and a Video Blog each week.

Plus there will be a series of Mini videos of how we set up the cameras and what we use and why, and we take the viewers with us in following the entire process, and if by the end of this process those that have seen them all, can't go an make a movie themselves then it means they better change their Passion... ;)

My pleasure Toby, and count on the info to keep coming more and more, growing up I learned the hard way, and always found little to no info to what I wished I could find, I'm changing that for those that like me, always want more info.... ;)
 
Thanks for the videos. It's a great starting point for people new to the red workflow.

Video 1: you talk about 5k footage being true 4k on output. You mention the Scarlet do true 4k output. if you shoot in 4k, why can't you have a 4k master? Where are you losing the 1k or so?

My pleasure that is why I do them.

Correct Will, in order to be able to have a TRUE 4K output you need ot be able ot shoot in a higher then 4K resolution, for this i say that Scarlet Can NOT have a TRUE 4K output as it can only records 12fps at 5K.
 
Hello Ketch,

Do you have a LEICA 0.95 hidden under your bed for an african RED boy ?
I can do a huge use of it in the jungle here in Central Africa.
Will be difficult/impossible to light in the deep forest at night.

Pleeeeeease...

And reserve my place on the tree of life btw

only have the last one left which I have to test some more to see if I can use it for my Film, only if I see is not a lens I can use for it then I'll sale it together with the RED Leica Mount.
 
Reserved ! Keep me posted. But there's no reason for me to dance right now. lol. It's a so great lens that i wish you to keep it. It'll be so much useful in your hands...

Okay Victor,

and I am truly hope that it does work out, as it is planned to be used for 16 Shoots in the Rape of a Beauty movie here in Rome, all Night scenes to be shot Wide Open for the Fashion shots and the Dramatic shots.
