  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ketch + Epic + Canon Mount

in this range I use the 24mm T/S II,
the absolutely sharpest 24mm in its class, and the Tilt Shift option on Epic is something I want to experience... ;)

Hells yeah! I can't wait to get my 17 and 24 TS-E's onto an Epic... for shooting architecture this combo is going to be... duh, Epic.

The 17 is good, but that 24 is phenomenally sharp!

He he, He is not getting them back any time soon, this are Japanese Made frames for an AMerican company called Chrome Hearts, this particle shade is called Back Door....

Hehe, awesome, Chrome Hearts are my favorites, I own four pair myself...

Question: do you have an idea what the Canon mount price will be?

I want it. My TS lenses will be cool, fun effects there. And I love the 35mm and 24mm 1.4 for night. I also picked up a 600 F4. Plus macro, the 70-200L and 17-40L for a light travel rig. The options are awesome.

He he, nope, I don't like the Cadilac at all, a nice GMC Yukon special edition Denali fits me just fine... ;)

And now this baby is getting a GPL Implant, ZERO Emission so I can travel in ZTL areas all the time, keep my footprint to a minimum and oh pend less... ;)
Inform yourself first, last time I did what I got was the original prevails as far as its pollution class concerns once it is bi-fuel (as for instance, Euro2 remains Euro2 and so on, even though the LPG's emission), unless you put the original fuel completely off of your vehicle what looks like very unlikely :-)

So this is a black-anodized titanium mount?

Interesting.

Steven

I am basing this on what Jim said (I think in the Tom Lowe Thread) that the canon and Nikon mounts are both titanium and they would each cost $2000.00. I believe the logic behind this is the heat dispersion of titanium vs aluminum. The outer locking ring may indeed be anodized aluminum, but it is possible to anodize titanium as well.

I'll let Jarred answer this because he would know best.

Ketch what's your favorite L lens ?

It has to be the EF 85mm f/1.2L II... ;)

That is why I only kept the 24mm, I just simply wanted the absolute best and sharpest glass, and have gone thru several sets... ;)

I did Emanuel,

Bio Fuel is not ever going to be as good as a GPL as far as emission, GPL really is CLEAN FUEL, and even so the Gasoline Engine can be activated by the push of a button, I sure plan to use it as little as possible.... ;)

Like RED... KETCH RULES!

HA HA!! MIchael, you are way too kind, you make me blush... ;)

Indeed Michael,

and the use of Autofocus lenses with remote controlled Focus and Iris is a tremendous tool for underwater, and even so now does not look good for me, ai still look to an opportunity to test it out under as well... ;)

And GATES are making some crazy great progress with their units.

Ketch, I've been on it too - made an external case for the redmote a month and a half ago - will pos t some pics in the bubble blowers when I get some time. Can also easily build it into the back plate as well, like on the Gates - (even easier actually) but the external case is more flexible.

Awesome news, on all so many levels. Stoked.

Is Gibby going to visit you by any chance? I think having both you and Steve as beta testers would cover about 94.7% of all usage scenarios.

Am very much looking forward to your experiences and pix.

Enjoy!

I actually did some time ago, cause I needed a specific Zoom range that Canon did no made, but I tried exactly 9 Lenses before finding a good one, so since Sigma is a NO GO,
their quality control is way out of control, even so I admit I did had to change few Canon L series glasses as well.

I had very similar experience regarding quality

Not as Stoked as I am Martin... ;)

Still in the plans for Steve to come over to shoot sections of Italia Mia DocuFilm project, but this now looks like it will not happen till some time next year, right after the opening of the KETCH ROSSi STUDiOS Italy... ;)

LOL We are lost in communication now :-) I meant, bi-fuel. It means to have both possibilities: gasoline and LPG (GPL in italian). The point is: the authorities in Italy do not let you change the original pollution class. If the car is classified as Euro2, even if you have the LPG/GPL mod (what would turn it on Euro5 or suchlike), it remains Euro2 anyway 'cause the native gasoline. Even if you don't use it all. Unless you'll put the native fuel off. I had the same problem with a Dodge RAM I'd like to import from the States.

Hope this helps you to clarify and get the best option to drive for your needs as far as ZTL (restricted urban areas) concerns. And be careful, 'cause some regions like Lombardia or Piemonte, for instance, they want to ban (up to) Euro2 vehicles from the whole territory too, countryside included. Other regions follow later, or sooner than we could predict awhile ago ;-)

Best as usual my friend,

E. :-)

Here in the UK the lack of approved CO2 data on imported vehicles makes it impossible for emissions based tax to be applied, so a flat rate is used instead, which is nice and cheap. Sadly only an approved list of LPG fueled vehicles qualify for congestion zone exemption, and they're mostly tiny courier vans not Maibatsu Monstrosity's like Ketch and I drive.

Ketch, how are you mounting off the Epic in the pics?
It looks like you have the handle, EVF and LCD all off the top universal mount...but I can't even manage to get the handle and LCD on the same bracket...how did you do that and get the EVF on as well! I'm impressed! :D
