A few more weeks till the Canon mount starts production, and testing still continues around the globe.

Ketch is doing his very best to try and break it over in Italy :)

Have fun Ketch!! Can't wait to see what you shoot!

Want the Canon mount to be out soon so badly :c

The Canon mount is so badass, no one notices your Bomb EVF is only mounted for aesthetic purposes.

Hehe... Sorry, couldn't help it. Congrats on the new mount. Epic looks good in your hands with that white lens on it.

Remote focus solution? Is it coming along with the mount?

The love RED has sent my way will be repaid with great images!!

I have not gotten a chance to shoot Canon lately, since it seems so weird to go back to old school and pick up a DSLR this days... ;)

But now... my "L" Series Canon glass has found a new Body, and the RED ELECTRONIC CANON MOUNT is something else all together.

A snap to replace form the PL mount, 4 screws, in and out, fits tight and firm, the mount is ROCK solid!!

Iris control is Fantastic, and been able to do so via the REDMOTE, Side Handle, and or the Screen is GREAT!!

Focus Distance also shows up on screen, which is also a great future to have, so much to discuss, I can't wait to do a review on this thing.

Lenses snap in ever so smoothly, and this mount gives much more confidence with larger lenses then the mount even on my 1D bodies, Love this filling!!

In the days, weeks to come, we have several events and shots set up and getting set up, across Italy, and possibly abroad, this shoots include Slow Motion,
High End Fashion of course, Water, Bikinis, some Topless... Its Italy you know, girls aren't afraid to show some skin here, ha ha!!

Any ways can't wait to show some footage and Frame grabs....

THANKS JIM AND JARRED... I'll Put the new Canon mount to the test, that is a Promise... and when I said this will end up on the EPICs of thousands I know it will, this thing ROCKS!!

Actually, the EVF is there for a purpose, all I need to do to switch form LCD to EVF is just unplug the cable form the LCD and plug it in to the EVF hot swap as the camera is on, and here we go... ;)

Can't wait till that hits Berlin aswell. So many FashionVictims here ....

Remote Autofocus currently is functional ( via the REDMOTE )

Hey Jarred

does this mean you are very close to the redmote pro FF ?
As a guy who will loose his Birger FF capabilities very soon because of my new Epic. The redmote pro is the one thing I'm looking forward the most.
So how are things going with the redmote pro?
Does the redmote do a good FF job already?

Thanks Chief

Tim

I know Ketch, I do the same thing. I'm just having some fun... :)

I was actually shooting an old school RED 18-50 the other day and got the focal length & depth of field readout as a layover in the upper left.

As our favorite computer with a lens on it (Epic) gets more sophisticated about communicating and interacting with "smart" lenses, the more powerful the system becomes.

BTW, ran around Santa Cruz Saturday shooting a Canon 150-600mm zoom with PL mount (formerly Gibby's, thanks again) on Epic and loving it.

More lens options and more interactivity - nice.

Cheers - #19

I think it is about time to ad some revolutionairy chapters for the book: 'The Camera Assistant's Manual' by David Elkins. RED changes the way we are able to work in different situations. Love that you got it Ketch, can't wait to hear and watch what you come up with...and how you will use this awsome peace of technological enhancement.

Stop releasing new stuff guys! You guys are killing me (and my business partners, too, spending all that money)!

(seriously though - don't stop!)

I think this is great news for the indie filmmaker and lower end productions trying to achieve a very polished look. We all agree that the L series lenses have some amazing glass and produce very nice images.. Personally I think the primes are fantastic.. Ok they may not be all to simple to work with for a focus puller but one single cine prime lens might cost more than a whole set of canon l series lenses.. This is great news for me - Personally I was thinking of going zeiss through an f mount or pl mount but if I see good results with the canon mount ( which I'm sure of ) I might go the canon route. Personally I am grateful that Red are producing cameras for the serious user not only the user that can afford to rent or has a high end budget.. We can now own the camera we dream of producing filmic images with at cinematic resolution.. I shot a lot of stills and some video with canon glass and had very little issues.. Fingers crossed me and my team will work with an epic soon enough..! So go Ketch!! Facci sognare dalla bella Italia :)

Amazing!!!

Ketch and EPIC-M with Canon EOS-EF mount at Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence.

Today this is one of the most crowded wedding place for photo and video shooting in Florence, also in Italy.

Great place to get pretty good wedding jobs.

Instead of RED PRO 5.0 could be mounted maybe TV Logic 5.6 and do more things with many of South Korean wedding shootings that so often take place there...

Ketch when you are finished with Canon L glass tests let me know if you would need maybe some of Leica R lenses to test on EPIC-M with Novoflex EOS/L adopter.
