  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

To confirm: you guys nixed the aluminum mounts right? Now it'll only be titanium for Pl, Canon, and Nikon? Or am I confused...
 
Jarred, will there eventually be an online listing of all officially characterized lense with updates as new lenses are put through the gauntlet? I would find this immensely helpful.
 
I was going to buy the RED mattebox to go with RED PL lenses but i'm really keen on using my Canon glass. Do you know if there will be an option to mount the mattebox on rails as it's currently a clip on?

Awesome details. I agree about the 1.2, but I'm a bit of a speed freak sometimes. Manual focus is all I need to keep me happy. Thanks!

Btw, I don't know how to evaluate if we really really need it, but I'm quite sure we really really want it, so what's the best way to register early interest? Our Bomb Squad rep?
 
Please add the Tokina 11-16 and the amazing Canon 100mm L macro f2.8 to that list. Both of these lenses are incredible.

Agreed 100% , the 50 f1.0 was almost unusable, more of a collector's item oddity than the kind of lens you'd ever depend on for general pro use.

In my opinion the Tokina 11-16 is the only "off-brand" lens that is truly impeccable and the L 100 is stellar.

BTW I know you have iris control, but is this manual iris or is their also autoiris (probably answered somewhere else but I've been away from the board for a bit.)

On the one hand... would it help if I mentioned I spent five years working as a professional tester/QA guy... :-)

On the other hand... of course first Stage 3 would have to roll around since owning an EPIC is probably a prerequisite... :-(

On the gripping hand, I'd hold it between my teeth to test it if I had to, to get hold of one!

Really REALLY need it!! I have the Zeiss cp2s and it's such a pain to shot a 5D job then change the lenses over to do n EPIC job (I know how dare I say 5D!!!! But those producers are sooooo hard to convince.... I'm trying sooooooo hard to convince FORD and Mike Rowe to do EPIC on the next campaign, but their argument is it's too good! Fuckers!)
