I really like the frame rates and have wanted one for quite some time. I shoot a lot of skateboarding in which a phantom would be cool, but kind of unpractical and Epic rolling seems ideal. Sustained 300fps rolling in full RAW HD is like the perfect camera for the kind of sporty shots I like to do over cranked... The fact that I used to shoot a lot of 1k WS to go all out on my soon to be traded up Scarlet is amazing when I see how fast my frame rates are at beyond HD on the Epic!!! Its amazing to think I can shoot high res over cranked now! So I just wanted to say thank you Red, and I look forward to owning an even better camera and could not be happier...!

I know that feeling. I shoot a lot of action sports and the frame rates on the epic has been a dream come through.
Ive been lucky enough to have an epic for 2 years already, and I have to say that most of the time 120fps in 4K is where I'm at for skiing, BASE jumping and FMX.
Its the sweet spot IMHO. Skateboarding can do with some higher frames pr sec though, as the "hang" time is far shorter than in the sports i mostly shoot.

Enjoy

Congrats, Brian! :D I'm looking forward to get my own one day. Been lurking around, gathering information here on the forum, and it is incredible to see what a great piece of equipment RED has made :) I'll be waiting to see some EPIC shots from you ;)

I know the feeling Brian! First thing we shot with our Epic was a glass full of water being thrown into a concrete floor at 400fps...

Artist, nope; good fun though!

Congrats Brian! Now just make sure you don't make the same mistake I did! Don't fly off to Vietnam for a month and get a call while your at the airport telling you your RED just arrived at your home! Mine was so lonely sitting in my room for a month :(

Congrats Brian, welcome.

Welcome to the family!!! I started with a Scarlet and moved to the Epic this year and now about to upgrade to the dragon!!! Congrats man you will love the camera :)
