Hi guys I just need to wrap my head around some things. I am thinking of buying a red rocket as I have a big project coming up - (Will shoot Epic MX).

Will the red rocket (original) playback 5k or just 4k via red cine? Its fine for me if it plays back the 5k file at 4k.
Do I need to attach the monitor directly to the rocket or I can just use it for the debayering and attach the monitor to the Titan as normal?

I heard rocket isnt much help in premiere but is it fine in Resolve 11?
I usually like to edit RAW so it would be great if the rocket helps in resolve at least.

You do not need to hook the monitor to the card. Fine to get picture out of your titan and only use the rocket for transcoding.

Then it's up to your disc configuration if it can do it at speed.

If you want to buy a rocket I happen to have one for sale. I just bought a trashcan and got dragon so no real use for it. send me a PM with a some what reasonable offer and it's most likely yours.
