  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just a few HOURS to "UNLOCK" my Kickstarter goal

At the moment of writing this plea for your support, we have less than 55 hours left in the Kickstarter campaign for my feature film ZEN DOG.

ZEN DOG is a narrative feature about a disillusioned man's quest from San Francisco to Brooklyn, New York. He takes the journey by flipping a coin after his home life is turned upside down and literally gives up everything of comfort in order to pursue the intellectual idea of s controlled suicide, with his plans to leap off the Brooklyn Bridge via another coin toss. On the road he briefly encounters several characters that not only change the course of his journey but also the course of his thinking. It's a poignant exploration about our place in the world and the events that shape us. Plus, we are featuring the amazing spoken words of the late philosopher ALAN WATTS throughout the film. Something nobody in Hollywood has explored yet. If you don't know Alan Watts, google him. His words are candy to the ears if you're into the existential. And lastly, this wouldn't have been possible without the Red Epic which will give us a stroke of production value that we wouldn't have been privy to if we made this movie 10 years ago. We'll be shooting this film on 2 Epics, using Angenieux lenses and k35 superspeeds with an amazingly talented up and coming director of photography who I am beyond excited to collaborate with.

So fellow Redusers I need your support now more than ever. We are very, very far away from our $30,000 funding goal. If you don't know how Kickstarter operates, basically if we don't get to this number in under 55 hours, we don't get anything... it all goes away.

Now I'm a firm believer that anything is possible and that's why I'm flooring my jets into raising awareness of this film and hopefully raising our goal. So checkout the Kickstarter video. Understand that the little trailer we made is just a sampling of the visual themes we want to explore. We haven't settled on a cast yet and there's still crucial planning to undertake before we are ready. But understand that our crew is not only talented, but determined to see this through and see that it's made extremely well.

Rick, I'm pulling for you. I hope you can reach your goal on this. I did the math. If all of your backers gave an additional $188 you'd make your goal. Or if you can pull in 20 more people at a $100 each, all the other backers would have to kick in $170. I'll put another posting on Facebook.
 
Just pledged $100 and posted link on my Facebook page. Great project. Look forward to seeing the movie. I'm a huge Alan Watts fan. Probably listened to all of his talks when I was a board op at WBUR-FM in Boston.

We STILL need some HELP! We're only 8 hours away now, having raised $18.000 so far. $14k of that being raised in just these past few days. It's been incredible and I can't wait for it to be over so we can begin working on the actual movie - Please Facebook like, share or back if you haven't done so already. A pledge from this point forth carries a lot of weight to it so if you're on the fence, know that you're backing something that refuses to fail and your pledge not only helps us make the movie but it also prevents the loss of all the money we raised so far. There's a cool reward package that we've been offering. Andrew Benz wisely just opted in for it. Realize this is a super limited offer as it will vanish in 6 hours.

For $2500, you get all the rewards in the $10-$1000 range which include AP credit on the film PLUS you get (2) full days of camera time with me and my Epic in the Los Angeles area. Outside of LA, you would pay for room/travel. But yes, I'll basically come out and shoot whatever you want.

That level of reward is essentially backing the movie AND getting all your money back, while keeping the benefits.

First Time EVER pledger here...but this guy Rick is damn passionate and i see he's going to make it happen no matter what....I kicked down $30 for a fellow red user....Just want to see this guy Rick and crew succeed which is reward enough!
