  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

JJ Abrams...

For a "scam", Red sure seems to be winning over some top directors... they must all be in on it. Big congrats to the Red team!

Congrats to Red and to Keslow which I wouldn't do any other show at. Such amazing Service for working Craftsman:)

Looks like a great project and alittle surprised they didn't go with F35 again but I'm happy they didn't;)

Here is the Trailer

WOW! That 20 page Act 1 was a page turner! Can't wait to see what RED delivers for this show. It will look amazing!

Big news. Proud news. This year has been a good year for significant movie announcements. All the hard work is paying off.

If they come out with some great anamorphics for Red, it could happen.
(Trek XI shot with anamorphics).

There have been many, many features shot on RED with others anamorphics already :)

Jackson, Sauderberg, Fincher and now Abrams. It's getting hard to for those who thought Red was a scam:). I so wish we could coax Spielberg and Scorsese. Not that they need it but it would be icing on the cake.

During the first day of the "Undercovers" pilot shoot we brought a Red to the set to do a side by side comparison with the Panavision Genesis but were unable to as the SR decks on the Genesis failed, two of them, they lost some footage they thought they got due to a bad SR deck. Luckily the Red was rolling.....I had a feeling they would go Red:)

Long live RED! I am currently on a genesis 3D project in Detroit. I am normally a red data tech. Panavision guy assured me that their "new system" system was "more straight forward" than Red and their system is better in post blah blah... We've had nothing but issues since. When I am done with this show Im going to go home and hug my red rocket card. And now the fact that JJ Abrams is shooting Red is just more proof that Red is soon to be the new standard. All I can say is keep it up Jim and the rest of the Red team! You guys all rock!

You must be on Harold & Kumar ...?

Out of curiosity, is Modern Family shot on Red?

The only currently airing US broadcast network show shot on Red is The Gates, which airs in the US on ABC. That will not be the case next season, but it is currently.

Disclaimer: I'm the colorist on The Gates.

Pretty Little Liars is shot on RED MX and is currently airing on ABC Family. It's the number one cable show... we even beat Glee in its own demographic and had the largest cable premiere of all time according to ABC! :)

While the subject matter isn't really my cup of tea, we've done some really cool stuff on the show... most notably shooting anamorphic for all of our "flashback" material. You should see how awesome it looks before the "flashback" post process is applied... there's some really cool stuff.

Well, I did say **broadcast** network.....

If we're including cable shows, I would add Leverage and the upcoming Covert Affairs as well.

Final disclaimer of the day for me: I'm also grading Covert Affairs.

BTW, are you and Jimmy planning to return to either Shameless, Southland, or (somehow) both? Or is that still undecided at this point?

Covert Affairs is Executive Produced by Doug Liman - who will shoot his next feature film in 5K -
