  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic Viper Monday... It's on.

Cool shot Jeff! Can't wait to see some motion... :)

Hehe... That pic was taken a few weeks ago and the phase of the project where I get to actually bolt the EPIC to the F-16, and get better shots, was postponed. Back on again though, starting tomorrow. I won't be able to share footage, which is typical for these shoots. :( The shot I posted, was actually snagged with my GH2. The jet was on a taxi to the start of the runway. Epic was about 1000ft behind me when this pic was taken, on a platform about 250ft past the end of the runway to shoot the F-16 head-on on take-off. That setup was with the 300mm RPP and it looked freakin' amazing. 5KFF 96fps.

More tomorrow. If I can steal a shot or two to share, I will. But I shoot a few of these projects every year and have yet to be able to share anything from them.

Was that out at Buckley?

Nope. :)

Squeezed off a few shots early yesterday before the clouds rolled in. Going to try and wrap it up in the next week if it works out, otherwise they're bumping to spring.

Awesome! I grew up in the springs and love anything Air Force and Jets. My only other guess would be Peterson...Either way I hope we can see the footage!

Nice. When can you share some shots?

Great to see you have your own page here. Can we renamed the thread to "Ask Jeff anything?" :)

When you do your Sci Fi film, after the dragon sensor update of course, you have to name one of your characters

"Dr. Kilgroe"

I guess you are never on your thread.

So my little girl asked me once "where does the internet live?" I thought about it for a second....then replied...."It lives inside the head of a guy named Jeff Kilgroe."

Anyone want to start adapting Chick Norris jokes? :)

All in good fun, Jeff is one smart dude.

Oh, boy...

And yeah, I always forget about this thread. Maybe I'll add to it when Dragon arrives. Lately I haven't been shooting much. All code and editing and more code and a few graphics, more code….

The powers at Red should make this a sticky Jeff. We could track you down for advice more easily:). The move to Mavericks was not very wise for us. No drivers to Nvidia= no cuda= no Davinci. The old 2008 Mac Pro is barely chugging along. I will be watching for your recommendation for a decent configuration that won't require a second mortgage.

hahahaha, a smart helpful dude, glad to have him around.

Jeff, have you ever consider a "Ask Jeff anything" about technical productions stuff? Kind like David Mullens thread? Maybe we could find you a sponsor or create a paypal donation page?

It's the quality of Jeff's posts that is most impressive. In the Top Five smartest guys on this forum for sure.

Josh...I'd wager that Jeff may be one of the Top Five smartest guys in this INDUSTRY...When we have questions, his posts are usually the first we seek out. I don't really think he knows how much folks like us appreciate his contributions...a "thank you" is just so inadequate for what he does...

Whenever I want to know just how much I don't know....I just read something technical Jeff posts...

Thank you Jeff
