  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jarred's Storm Trooper Epic

Would be cool if Red collaborated with a company like colorware, they customize apple products, phones and game consoles and the likes under warranty. http://www.colorwarepc.com/default.aspx

That would take the burden of Red's production line.

I'm pretty sure that Apple doesn't collaborate with Colorware, it's just a matter of Apple not suing them. So it's really up to Colorware if they pick up RED products, although I might be wrong.

(and I agree, I LOVE customization)

Not sure, I just assumed it beacuse colorware offer a extended warranty with a customized new apple product that is purchased of them. It could be a warranty from colorware and not apple however?

EDIT: Found the warranty void; This is an aftermarket customized electronic device. All hardware related warranty service is the sole responsibility of ColorWare Inc. The original manufacturer is under no obligation to repair or refund this product.

Sorry for the false information, still a cool idea but.

Mitch.

could never shoot a car with it...a reflection nightmare!

He posted a picture of "Shadow" on Facebook today. Seriously, where do I send the check? I really wish there could be more options to customize like this, but I understand how that would be a manufacturing nightmare. Also, seems that they keep using those red screws in the Epic bodies, so I really hope they keep those for the final product.

I was racking my brains for five minutes trying to remember what this reminded me of, then it came to me:

Rare beast indeed.

Mike, is that a medium format camera?

It's a Rolleiflex 3003, a downright weird (but to my way of thinking very well designed) 35mm SLR of the 1980s. The two outstanding features were interchangeable backs, complete with darkslide, exactly as per medium format, and it had both a conventional viewfinder and a waist-level finder built in; you just flipped up a cover on the top of the camera to use the WLF. All electronic, built in motor drive.

Cracking good Zeiss glass, all kinds of weird and wonderful accessories. I'd still be using one in anger today if I'd ever got round to engineering a digital back for them!

I've got a small collection of them, including the ultra-rare white one - officially known as the 'Traveller Edition', came in a custom case with a couple of lenses.

I called emailed Brent one time about having my camera painted desert camo. I work in extreme desert heat at times and feel this would help with keeping the camera cool. White would be good but Desert Camo would be better for ware and tear.

And what did he say?
