Imagine a party where one member rises and screams:
"It's a bomb. Maybe several. It will most certainly blow us up and kill us if nothing happens!"

And runs out of the room.
Panic spreads

What do you do?

Things a little slow today Gunleik?

Hehehe...

I voted for Ignore it • Everyone's getting hysterical these days but then curiosity would probably overcome me and I would have to at least look to see what it was. Only to realise its an electricians work bag that he left by his chair whilst he went to the toilet..

At no point would I actually attempt to defuse the bomb (that would be just stupid!)

If only they'd ship some cameras, people would have less free time on their hands... :)

I'm busy, thank you! :-))

But then again, I have cameras...

Still, here comes 10:
Kill the messenger for messing up the party! (Gee, we were all in such good moods, and now this - affirmative action needed!)

11) Kill yourself with a kitchen-knife. Bombs are such a messy story...

12) Call Bruce Willis! (Isn't he getting slightly old these days...)

Well taking all of the information into consideration.

If the first person that screamed, ran and set off a panic with others and the bomb did not go off .... Number 1 is not valid.
If the room is in a panic it would be tough to ignore and or not hear what was said ..... So 2 and 3 also not valid.
If the room is in a panic the crowd would be frantically trying to get out ...... So 6 and 7 would be not valid either.
So there I sit/stand ..... only a madman or a Bomb Tech would try to defuse it .....So 4 and 5 are not valid as I am not a Madman or Bomb Tech.
So that leaves Number 8. I guess I would sit until the crowd has trampled each other and cautiously walk out of the party room. As I walk clear of the trampled bodies strewn about the floor, I'd RUN LIKE HELL ....... just incase it was a bomb!

Thanks Dave, that was actually quite helpfull.

Let's add that there IS actually a bomb, there is just no way to know what makes it explode and what may disarm it. Whether it's a new-years cracker or an atomic behemoth of a mother.

I'll add:

13) Tweet.../Call CNN/Get The Story!

14) Call your shrink and try to find out if you're delusional

15) Take a napkin and try to draw a plot on who the co-conspirators might be

16) Take a nap and grab some food. You need to be sharp to get out of this-one

OK. We, over here in the US, have been dealing with people asking essentially this question every time we get in line to get on a plane for 10 years now. So... In most cases, I'd ignore it, on the theory that it's probably a nut case looking for a bit of attention. (Or a politician looking for cover for some other agenda.) if there were some other clue that gave me pause to suspect it might be real, I'd walk quietly, and as quickly as possible, away and disappear into the crowd that's sure to be gathering. (It's what Bruce does at the end of every movie.)

Every time I hear someone say "She is the bomb"... I call 911.

Jim

hahahaha
good one.
probably it would be the best time to go to the bar ;)
cheers

It must be a real bomb, because I don't believe the EVF's actually exist. Unless it's connected to an Epic-M.

Do a George Clooney: Find the most attractive girl in the room and say: "that doesn't give us much time".

"Hey, this is baghdad. That sounds pretty safe. Come over here everybody!"

And of course:
It may all be a dream. The bomb has gone off, long ago. This is just an eternal loop...

But as long as Jarred is not amongst the audience, I guess this has nothing to do with the Bomb EVF...

Row row row your boat
Gently down the stream,
merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream.
So said William Blake, the poet, and so acted Johnny Depp as William Blake, the protagonist in Jarmusch's Dead Man. Then of course there is Flann O'Brian's novel: "The Third Policemen". "Jacob's Ladder". "The Sixth Sense".
