Hi guys,
First: Sorry for asking a question like this, but it will greatly give me understanding about what to expect when dealing with RED footage, and how to handle it since it will be a camera used a lot in the future
We just finished shooting our first music video on the EPIC @ 5K 50fps.
Ofcause I was utterly blown away by the quality of this camera and by the quality it puts on those SSD's, but i'm also quite amazed about how different it is to edit, and how data storage suddenly becomes very important!
Well, we finished the edit in Premiere CS6 and i'm a bit surprised of the rendering time, and would like to hear if it's simply what to expect.
I'm outputting in 1080p H.264 with full debayer.
The color correction is done in Red Cine, and grading are done in Looks and FilmConvert. A few clips have NeatVideo NR applied as well.
The project is 4 minutes exactly and takes about 7-8 hours to render!
It's done on a PC with:
i7 3770K CPU with 4,5ghz
32 gb ram
GeForce GTI660TI CUDA enabled by script.
The data are read from a raid array, and written to a SSD.
The CPU are running at 100 % on all cores! Auch.
The GPU are only used at times.
Is that a render time to expect?
Thanks in advance, and have a lovely day!
