IsisWorks R-Light plate

There's a banner ad for IsisWorks on the top of this page, but surprisingly I couldn't find any discussion about their products here.

Looks like their only product is the R-Light mounting plate... "60% lighter than the standard RED plate"... Am I right in thinking it's a replacement for the Red cheeseplate?

Has anyone used the R-Light? Is it indispensable?
