First, an aside: I actually ran across this issue on location in Japan 3 weeks ago. I put in a call to RED after hours support, since it was a 'right here, right now' kinda situation… left a message… and never got a call back. Never heard a damn thing. This is only the second time I've had to call after hours; the first time around I had exactly the same thing. No-one returned my call. Kinda sucked.
Anyway, the question.
I'm shooting time-lapse with the internal intervalometer. Project frame rate is 23.98. I'm shooting 1FPS. It's a night cityscape by available light.
I was constrained by the required iris setting, and really wanted more light rather than crank the ISO up.
Given than I'm shooting a 1FPS time-lapse, why can't I increase the exposure time beyond 1/24th? Why can't I shoot, say, 1FPS time-lapse, with exposure 1/8th, to be projected at 23.98 frame rate as per usual? This would have been good from a creative point of view too; more motion blur on parts of the shot that were moving.
Is this impossible? Or am I missing something in settings?
Thanks
Mike
