  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is Resolve faster than Premiere for Export?

HiI´m just starting out to learn Resolve so I can do some quick grading on small budget stuff. Today was my first time to round trip a project from Premiere.It was shot 4K on Epic, edited in a 1080 timeline, then XML to Resolve.It was only a 2 minute Promo for a ski clothes brand, but it seemed to me that Resolve was 3 times faster exporting to H.264 than Premiere was. Could this be right?I didn´t have time to compare the two different versions though, so not sure if it was any IQ difference..I´m on a PC with a Titan GPU, could that be the reason?
 
How many Titans you have on your gpu and what cpu and ram you have? Do you have external raid as well?
 
We have an i7 extreme, 64GB RAM, one Titan 6GB, Internal RAID, writing to an internal hard drive.
I think I´ve heard mentioned that the Titan card is better suited for Resolve than Premiere, but I´m not sure
