  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is it possible to record audio straight into camera yet?

YES, my computer with 8 big Fans and 2 same size fans together are much more quiet than 1 epic. Anyway EPIC's fan noise is always the same during recording, so it's not difficult to erase it in post works. I would use just EPIC to record the sound for budget saving reason with a senhaiser MKH8060, I would say it's just enough for the workflow since I prefer to use post sounds.

Yes, there was a hardware upgrade last year that improved the fan noise situation (among other things):

I've done some sound work with several Epic cameras in the last couple of months, and it generally hasn't been an issue. Coincidentally, Arri just announced a quieter fan in their Alexa XT (which was already fairly quiet to begin with).
