Anyone using the Irix? with new 21mm and 30mm and insisting 45mm this becomes really interesting set on Monstro... I have looked to see if there is any real project shot on IRIX that would give some scene of how they look outside of a YT and Vlog tests? but no luck so far. Any one over here uses IRIX?

Hi Luka ,
Irix make good priced lens , but produce some strange images , called as " IRIX LOOK " ( By manufacturer ) .
For me DZOFilm is much better ...
For my V-Raptor , Gemini and Komodo.
Best

to do a little update on this tread... I got the Irix set 15, 21, 30, 45 and 150 to try it out and see for my self. So far there are some good and some bad surprises. Over all they are far nicer then i would ever expect. some quick notes:

1) 15mm is in many ways identical in performance to my Laowa 12mm when it comes to distortion resolution and contrast. of course 12 is dub wider but 15 has zero viggneting issues on VV
2) IRIX T1.5 is questionable but stopped to T2 the lenses are totally usable and 99% similar to Sigma. Irix stoped down to T2 is far cleaner then DZO wide open.
3) DZO, Sigma and IRIX are almost identical at 2.8 and at T4 i cant tell them apart
4) Build quality is almost good. Overall finish and feel is fantastic but Quality Controle is plain tragic. 4 out of 5 lenses (and 7 tested in total) have some sort of strange Aperture blade syncronicty issue. one blade or ever two blades on some example would stay behind the rest of the the rest of the blades forming a buzz saw shape. Aperture blades are forming a round shape aside form "lazy leaf" that acts random. I couldnt make this show off in the Bokah but still its annoying
5) PL mount is ultra tight, in fact so tight that lenses when they are new are next to imposible to mount on the Red mount. With some usage (after 20 times or so when lens is mounted )this issue is reduced. In my opinion this is due to tight tolerance and some strange matt finish of the mount
6) I wasnt able to identify that "Irix look" that Malk has mentioned. Maybe its due to the fact that i have tested them on the Monstro and not on DSLR or maybe because i have concentrated on T2 to T2.8 range of the performance where they really shine
7) 150mm is league of its own and i am blown away by its performance

Over all i think and i have gut feeling that IRIX will fail in this lens race unless they step up QC. They have nice product but i dont know if this company has what it takes to cut teeth in the cinema market. Irix lenses are better made then Mieke and DZO but small anying issues with Aperture and mounts are enough to make stigma for the future.
If they improve manufacturing quality controle and if they make additional focals soon (65mm and 100mm for example ) they could easily become next go to budget "Superspeeds"

i will post tests soon

I own all of these. Worth looking closer. Distortion, breathing, flare, and even CA at those stops reveal differences.

I like the Irix lenses though. I actually own them because they are different from my Tokinas and Sigmas. Looking forward to the next two longer T1.5 focal lengths. Agree the 150 is fantastic.

My T2-ish primes or a different thing I manage. But mainly own those as they are very compact.

Phil do you have aperture blade issues on your lenses?

Nope. Nothing yet that is. Only iris issues I've had on any of my lenses over the years either related to oil getting in the blades or somehow between point A and B the blades exiting the mechanism during transport. That was a 7 country trip with 9 lenses and not exactly smooth roads. Got that replaced/repaired.
