  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IR/ND/Hot Mirror Matrix...

Evin, I'm looking forward to the test results.... I just ordered a Rosco from the group buy this morning (thanks Michael!). If the tests show it's not the best solution, no big deal. It's pretty inexpensive.

As a starter the Rosco seems like a no brainer.

Yep. I encouraged Rosco to position themselves in that space for their first foray into optical flats. It sure beets the ~$600 price a Tiffen rep was quoting Dustin Cross at NAB.

Considering Michael did all the legwork and testing to make the Rosco filter happen I'm happy to buy from him. Gotta give credit where it's due.

Joelnet, you can buy and must buy from any one you like to, this was not intended to undermind a fellow REDUSER, this was intended to continue to provide a service to my fellow REDUSERS as I have try to do since I joined this fantastic community.

It is my only goal to help, in providing the lowest cost, on gear, I make absolutely "NO PROFIT" from any of the discounts offered.

And BTW, the filter discount deal has been up since last year.

ciao

I think that's great and I appreciate it. I know I try to save a buck where I can. Just wanted to remind people there would not even be a Rosco filter for someone else to profit from if it wasn't for Michael's interest in making it happen in case they weren't aware of it.

Well, I think everyone should hold out another week if you can, Schneider and Panchro said they'll have their filters to me on Tuesday. With any luck I can have the test shot and up on friday. It all depends on shoots though, the end of the month is looking very busy.

No offense taken here.

Choosing your tools should never be about loyalty to a person but educating yourself about the options available and making the best choice based on your needs and means. That said, if you find the Rosco TruColor IR is your best choice, well then, enjoy the group purchase I've set up. ;-)

I appreciate that Evan is putting the Rosco glass up against offerings from the others. It will be good to do a non-biased comparison. Thanks to Ketch, as well, for putting together aggressive discount options for the critical tools we need.

best,

Michael

Evin, please also test how hot they get (especially non-mirror types flooded with IR rays). Thanks! :shifty:

The test was completed today. Evin's the man behind the results... they'll be up as soon as he compiles them. There were a lot of different tests with some very telling results. Look forward to it.

Me too. Michael's group buy for the Rosco has a deadline of the 16th, so it's going to be tight!
