ipp2 RWG Log310
Dragon color2 redlog (lowered the saturation to match)
why is the ISO huge différence ? iso 1000 vs 320

Greg,

What IPP2 Output Transform did you use on the RWG/LOG3G10 image, or did you develop the image yourself with your own contrast luminance curve? Maybe try a Medium/Medium IPP2 Output Transform with a lower Iso with the RWG/LOG3G10 image.

The saturation level in the RWG/LOG3G10 image's Vectorscope is less than the DRAGONcolor2 /Redlogflim image . Also, the level of contrast for the skin tones in the RWG/LOG3G10 image's Parade Scope is less than the DRAGONcolor2 /Redlogflim image, about 12 to 60IRE for the RWG/LOG3G10 image and about 6 to 74IRE for the DRAGONcolor2 /Redlogflim image.

I dropped the same lut on both. just increased sat in log3g10 with the fcpx color wheel, but why do I have to jump to iso 1000 from 320?
They were both the same file exposed and lit heavy, it was fine at iso320 in redlogfilm but in the log3g10 the iso had to be set to iso 1000, thats pushing it in my opinion.

RLF and Log3G10 put mid grey at a different point. Mid grey on Log3G10 is lower so that the curve can have a lot more highlight protection.

Because you are using different gammas.

Lowering saturation doesn't match colour response.

Greg,

You heard it from the Red Color Science God himself. Do you mind posting a .R3D of this file? Also, you used the same Lut for both, however, the two images didn't have a similar luminance curve from which to apply the same lut to.

OK I understand the grays I think :) but my scopes on camera and safety was on the max in the shot, I never outputted files at iso 1000, Some I have to set to iso 1600 in that pipeline, unless thats normal and safe in that environment .

Thank you for the input. Getting ready for a next project with a new gemini that is coming in tonight, Im testing & learning new possibilities on my old camera mx.

Greg, the people are having issues because the file is not zipped. Use WinRar or similar to zip up the R3D and you'll notice magically everybody can download it.

Greg,

I haven't used Final Cut since Final Cut 7. However, I believe I saw somewhere that FCX adds a default lut to its image that you have to disable, I think.

Ooh, BTW, I had to use google Chrome to download the .R3D file. Microsoft Edge kept fucking up.
