Hi,

I've updated to the latest available Raven firmware 6.3.102 though I still can't seem to access the new IPP2 colour. I've followed the steps in the Red Tech videos and can't see the option available in the Raven menu. Am I doing something wrong or is the IPP2 simply not available to Raven only models above?

Thanks

Justin

IPP2 can only be used in the latest beta of REDCINE-X. Once all the bugs have been flitered out, it will become a full build in the inevitable future.

As far as I know IPP2 preview won't be available in our RAVENs, but, as others said, you will always have the ability to interpret the footage in that way later.

IPP2 on Raven is only available throughthe beta firmware(s) starting with 6.4.xx

You can install that via the red download page and clicking on BETA on the right hand side under firmware

Thanks Guys for the help, I didn't realise that it was still Beta at this stage, will look forward to it in a future update :)

Hi Justin,
the raven always takes the footage in IPP2. You can see the IPP2 on REDCINE-X PRO software from RED. Go to the menue and choose PREFERNCES, than Imapge pipline ---> IPP2. Sorry for my english!

Nope. You are wrong. Raven does NOT have the appropriate hardware to handle IPP2 "in camera". However, you could use REDCINE-X PRO to post process Raven's R3D files as stated.

Visit this link to read what Graeme Nattress of RED Camera posted a few months ago: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showth...P2-Preview-2&p=1708315&viewfull=1#post1708315

IPP2 in-camera is for Helium sensor cameras only. See http://www.postmagazine.com/Press-Ce...ancements.aspx for more info.

To me IPP2 in camera is not really that much relevant. Especially not as it´s just a preview feature, ie. when in playback on camera you get a different look than what you had when you hit record. So normally I just just old color science in camera and then work with the ipp2 luts / RWG in post even though we got weapon and could use the luts in camera for preview.

Not sure when / if the luts will be implemented for playback as long as they are not I think the luts in camera possibly cause more confusion than do good.

Is there a reason why it is available for monitoring but not playback?

You can also use a SMALLHD with LUT support and load the IPP2 lut in the monitor.

Precisely what I was thinking, even Premiere supports IPP2 already these days, if you need to see in camera, work with your LUTS
