I haven't seen any images from the RED One MX, processed with IPP2 in post. I thought I'd post some stills from a project I shot last week, comparing the differences.

IPP1: REDcolor3/REDgamma3 (I used these since they're the latest that the RED One firmware allows you to display in camera)

IPP2: REDWideGamutRGB/Log3G10 (w/IPP2 Preview LUT)

RED isn't updating the firmware for the camera anymore, so you can't view it while shooting. However, any R3D file is capable of being processed with the IPP2 method, through REDCine-X or DaVinci Resolve. The posts in the Recon section provide more details on how to do this, and the same method applies to RED footage shot with any model camera. I just hadn't seen it done with the RED One yet.

Nice to see.

The flames and the skin tones improve a lot I think. More tonalities in the IPP2.

I tried it on some old RED one footage too. great results.

Is there a single other company still finding ways to improve the footage from their ten year old cameras?

You really need to AB these to appreciate the difference. I downloaded the images and went back and forth in full screen. Colour is nicer in IPP2

Maybe it's just me, but I much prefer the non-graded IPP2 image to the graded variant.

I think the soft look is more film like but I wonder if the clean version is more 35mm 4 perf look?

Stupid question. how do I download the R3D stills for a comparison? or were they not uploaded. Sorry new to this reduser site.
