  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Introducing Epic-W 8K

I know a lot of people are wondering when they will get a camera. Here is my update. I received mine today. I had a Scarlet-W deposit that I switched over right away on the 11th. My date stamp was from Dec 12 2015. Not sure if that helps anyone but I thought some people may want to know. I am still in aw of Red for the upgrade path they offered to deposit holders. I used to work in the camera sales industry and I can not think of a single camera company that cares for their customers like Red does. Plus the cameras are pretty nice too.

Same I was a 2/19 Raven switcher to E-W and was allocated monday to give an idea of how fast these things are flying out the door

Just got my Epic-W today, from Omega Broadcast in Austin, TX. Highly recommended. Gus is very professional, patient and excellent.

Is there a clear filter for EpicW (no low pass)? If so has anyone shot with and what is the resulting color like? Does there have to be OLPF for color adjustment to match RED color / gamma? Couldn't just use hotmirror or similar infrared filter?
Asking to know if maximum sharpness would be achieved without OLPF or of that would be problematic. Yes I know post to 4K will tighten up - but that is not the question.

Prove it! Post all the video clips you can... LOL! I need more footage to keep me sane until my precious arrives!

compressed jpeg in order to be able to keep the file size down for upload. This was the first shot right when I got it. Haven't had time to dump the rest of the stuff ive shot since. This is straight from camera, no correction or grading

Couldn't agree more. I was a day one Epic-W pickup, Gus was amazing..for that last 9mo, he has been amazing. Will definitely be doing business with them in the future.
