  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Introducing Dynamic Perception Timelapse Dolly Stage Zero!

I just took a trip to 'play it again sports' for some serious weight...

Bear in mind the top 10-15# definitely = performance target (aka 'keep weight in mind if macro-performance critical')

Set it up in the worse case scenario: full vertical
first 10# weight: motor happy as a clam
second 10# weight: motor starts to complain but chugs along
third 5# weight: motor noticeably unhappy but continues to climb:emote_22_yikes:
fourth 5# weight: motor sounds totally over-taxed but pulls on!:out:

So... Quick empirical evidence says Keep it to 20# OR UNDER for peace of mind and so you're not replacing the motor every few months!

If you keep the rail below the cam and level you should be safe to go A BIT over 20# but I'd highly advise to be smart and hold it as close to the 20# mark as possible...

Edit: 20# under-slung appears happy & smooth.

Hello Jay,

My setup with Red One, Lens, & head comes to 17lbs. Count me in!!

I will definitely order one and I'm pretty sure everyone that is in my TL workshop class will order one, too. Keep up the good work.

In the email Jay sent me he stated that they hope to start shipping in July. Y'all know how this works, right ("everything in life changes...") :)

Hi Jay

I'm overseas, and interested in the package without the rail. However, if I'm sourcing the track, I'd like to maybe get one longer than 6ft, but at the moment, the package is limited to 6ft (presumeably due to the length of the drive belt?). Will it be possible to ask for longer lengths of drive belt, perhaps that we can cut down to whatever size we like?

Thanks
Eric

I am pretty stoked for this. Anyone know how it will handle in the cold (below 0 Celsius?)?

Not a big fan of pre-orders, when will this actually start shipping?

The website sas around November.

I have mine but have been too busy to put it together.
I hope to fire it sometime in January.

i've been testing this system for a week or so now and it is pretty incredible.

fast, durable & flexible.

i wouldn't recommend this for a RED one but the new Epic cameras look fitting.

anyone who is interested in motion control but not willing to pay $$$$

this is your solution!

Here's a little video I did using A 5D2 and the Dynamic Perception rig when I first got it. Its really cool and most of the time I carry it around by myself as its pretty light.
