My Scarlet-X was stopping recording very randomly with all the SSD cards. I contacted Red and they said they don't service the camera anymore but it should be a problem with the camera and not the SSD cards. Today I decided to open the side of the camera (where the SSD module is) and saw that there was a connector with broken and twist pins. I already contacted RED but maybe someone here can help me faster. I'll attach some pictures. Does anyone know where that connector comes from? It would make sense if it comes from the SSD module.

That wouldn't solve it because those broken pins are under the SSD module, in the camera body.

so you think where that ribbon contacts the board, that the contact has been damaged?

not sure any of the users here at RedUser would know unless they have experience with boards

if you contact a engineer that repairs data boards they might be able to diagnosis this problem and fix it. At the very least they could test it and know more than us

Yes, the contact it's clearly damaged. Those very small pins on the board are all broken and twisted. I'm sure that's the problem because I taped the contact to the board to test it and the camera was recording without stopping with all the SSD's. I already sent the pictures to a friend who's an engineer and he said that happened because the camera was probably very hot and the welding was old and didn't hold. That explanation makes sense because the camera stopped working after a long day of shooting a videoclip. He also said it should be easy to solve because those are standard components and like you said an engineer who repairs data boards should fix it without any problem.

Hopefully, it works out for you. I definitely feel your pain as I'm currently dealing with Scarlet issues myself. Best of luck you and would love to hear a happy ending to this one.
