  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Inovativ Scout EVO cart new for 2016

Oh man I want one of those :)

I definitely would like one, but it's about $4K with monitor mount, travel case and shipping charge.

They are not cheap but when you work with them you will know where the money went.

I've been working with Inovativ on a special deal for redusers. They wanted to time the release with their new product launch. It will be cheap with my GB which is launching on Monday!!!!!! INSANE discounts!!!!

looking forward to adding my 4th innovativ cart to the fleet.

Do you find the 42 to be cumbersome?

I love the foot print.

I've never used a Scout so I can't say.

I have a Ranger 36, Ranger 48, and an Echo 48. The 36 feels good, maneuverable. The 48 feels big like I'm hauling some serious kit so get the hell out of my way. Perhaps 42 in scout form (smaller overall build vs Ranger) would be the sweet spot. I'd have to measure to make sure it'd fit in my SUV. Might be cutting it close.

Cool Chris,

Thanks for doing this.

I got to know the guys at Inovativ when I was designing systems for Light Iron a couple of years back. They are good people, and make a really well designed and executed platform. I'll be watching this with interest. I'd also recommend a conversation that centers on what is a supportable discount for Innovativ to support across the breadth of their configuration accessories if that is at all supportable. One of the huge strengths of their products is that amount of customization that you can do with their handles, shelves, racks, monitor supports etc.

I'm betting that anyone who's going to make the kind of investment required to outfit this level of cart likely already has some sort of solution in place, and the carts can be used in so many ways, I think a one size fits all approach to configuration is likely not the best approach.

Understanding their business a bit, I think it's likely that they are understandably going to want to limit the discount to a particular cart platform, and in my experience the 37" models are big enough to be very useful, but still small enough to get into elevators, make tight turns into narrow doorways etc.

To summarize even if there is no discount of accessories, preserving the possibility of customization by keeping whatever the group buy is to a pretty stripped down model might be a good way to go.

Personally, I've got a solution for anywhere I can take my box truck, but a Scout would be a welcome addition for travel.

Given Weapon, a new edit system, and some other large capital expenses recently I'm not sure I'll participate, but I can say to the others thinking about acquisition, these guys really sweat the details, and their platform is rock solid, and an absolute pleasure to use.

Just one man's $.02

Already one step ahead of you!! hehe

This is probably the best group buy I've organized in terms of discount, offering and customizability so the user (we) feel like we are in complete control of what we get, not having to settle on something just bc it has a nice discount. Plus, it's with a great company like Innovativ. This thing has been in the works for quite some time now....and I can't wait until it pushes live!! Be on the lookout Sunday/early Monday morning at the same late-night time that Jarred will be posting all the RED goodies!

Hi DJ,

I'm interested in your thoughts here as well. I've only used 36" and 48" models, and the 48" I've used is a backstage/filmtools model where the combined length of the cart and the fixed handles was just a PITA. It was just too long to get in and out of hotel elevators, narrow hallways, into rental SUV's etc. Because the handles of the Inovativ's can pivot, I'm curious if the 42" would small enough to avoid some of that. Having the extra real estate once set up would be sweet.

The 48 i have stays in my studio as DIT cart, so I can't speak to that really, but it is definitely a bit of a handful. I'd guess that 42 would be ok - especially with the pivoting handles - but i certainly would not go larger for a travel cart.

Hi Chris, any chance their DigiPlate system will be part of the group buy as well?
