Dear Red,

I'm confused about why you are sending out 2 pin plugs that are not really suitable for UK use ? They don't even have a 3 pin adapter for them. So much electrical equipment these days . e.g Hard Drives comes with a multi format plug. I would say the very least you could do is send a power supply that has the appropriate plug for the country?..early days 2007 when i was purchasing kit i accepted it, but come on 7 years down the line ? This should be standard. What say you red powers that be?

True, and I somewhat agree.

On the other hand I hate the waste in the products that comes with all sorts of plugs (uk, us, euro), where I have to throw all but one in the garbage.
Besides the cable you need comes with so many products, so most people have a lots of them lying around unused, try posting on facebook to your friends, and let them know yyou need one - you might get more cables than you can ever use.

It's not a professional solution posting on Facebook.

Yeah, I agree. It's a pain.

Lot's of manufacturers send out the multi country ones now. When that happens I think "Nice, they care about customers outside of the USA, and they think about how I will use the product"

Also very handy for International shoots.

+1

I agree

You guys are right. We do need to come up with a nice happy medium between being US-centric and sending out a lot of adapters that will end up in the trash. Let us work on it...

Brent you guys just made a mess in my cables drawer as I was searching for the right one and didnt have the time to do it precise not to tangle every single cable in there as I just wanted to shoot as fast as possible on my new Epic :)

Thanks you Brent. Really appreciate it.

Uros I fail to see either the humour or usefulness of your comment, maybe it's lost in translation. ?

I agree it would be good for stuff to come with UK kettle leads (for example). I keep a stock of leads now, but its always a great surprise when something comes 'pre-configured'.

For instance, I recently received a monitor from Bon (South Korea) and was pleasantly surprised to see they'd switched the power lead for a UK kettle type one. It's just a nice convenient touch and also stops me thinking I'll need a step down converter - until I look at the power supply ratings ;)

I have spoken to Red about this and they very kindly offered to send me some U.K. Plugs for all the gear I bought.
just ask them, I'm sure they are happy to send you some too.

excellent i shall do this.

We are working on supplying adapters with any mains powered equipment which requires such.
It's been a long process, since we have to test and approve etc
Nearly there, but in the meantime if you have a requirement, for sure give us a call..
