  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Inexpensive gadgets and accessories you can't do without.

Thankx Fellas,
I was lucky enough to have 6 of this once VF introduced still using it (they never in stock again since then)

Regarding reflectors, I got myself a hold of one of these:

Week later ended up getting a second one. VERY helpful and useful!

yeah I remember that, we arranged very interested group-buy with him (lol)

Here's my $9 mic case, which holds a shotgun mic, shock mount, noga arm and XLR cable securely and fully assembled. Just take the rig out of the case and screw it on, instant scratch mic. Waterproof, dustproof, impact resistant and somewhat pro looking. Fully gasketed with rubber seal, lanyard hole, molded clip and it doesn't roll. Also like the red color, which makes it easy to locate and hard to lose.

I permanently have two of these WC 1/4 20 hot shoes attached to the top of my camera, which allow me to fasten both my lavalier mic receivers. When you do a lot of corporate interview stuff that's essential. If they're not attached, then I also use a senheiser shotgun mic which sits in a soft mount that slots directly into one of these too (see the 2nd shot).

Incidentally, the outrigger handle, combined with a Canon strap on the Red Side Handle, allows me to handle the camera like a fig-rig, which I like a lot when I'm shooting fight sequences.

If you look closely you'll also see the mounting points for the View Factor quick release strap, which also gets a lot of use.

Can't fit Redmags, but for all other memory cards i use this ten dollar thingy. I quick search for JJC MC revealed that you can find that easy and cheap as dirt. Got mine from DealExreme.

Oh, and another bargain as far as I'm concerned which has streamlined my setups without breaking the bank.

$30 - and the 10cm or 15cm versions ar ehte same price - http://www.coollcd.com/quick-release-safety-rail-10cm_p1134.html

My redmags case is the small AmazonBasics point and shoot camera case. I think it was about £2.50.

Velcro-style tomato vine ties which come in a continuous roll. Rip off whatever length you need. Trouble is, everyone else rips off whatever length they need and the roll is gone pretty quick.
