I too would be interested in knowing more about this. In so far I know, Chittagong was shot on Red MX. We have a few features in the works that will be shot on Epic D-Dragon :)

This Telugu film actually claimed to be the first feature in India to shoot on Red,

LBW ( Life Before Wedding) , released 18 Feb 2011, Cinematographers : Andrew Redd, Suresh Babu
 
Tonydavis, is partially correct "Achchamundu Achchamundu"is first indian language movie, but it was shot in US with my own RED and I was part of the crew.
But the first Indian movie to be shot in India using RED ONE is 'Unnaipol Oruvan", same director(Chakri Toleti) shot first EPIC movie in india "Billa 2" (this is same movie TEd was commenting in his indian trip thread).
Coming back to original topic, it's no point in maintaining the list, as we supplied my EPIC to 8 movies in the last 5 months.

nice....i just needed this kind of response.....just wanted to know who all were shooting red and which features were shot with red as we dont have imdb updated tech spec page for every indian movie to check out which camera was the movie shot with.......very glad to know many malayalam and telugu movies are shot with epics.....just post the names of the movies if you can.....i cant guarantee i will keep updating these lists or not but just want everyone to share some information since there was nothing around the web....
 
Seems mostly South & East Indian (Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali) productions have used REDs. What about Hindi movies? Expect for a few, not many have used them???

many productions have been using red in bollywood but as a b camera kinda thing.........still not a hot favourite among bollywood d.o.p's i suppose......
 
I agree, recently someone I knew was recommended by a famous director/producer (I wont name him, but from Bollywood) to shoot his big budget music video on 5D Mark 3, 20days+ around Europe.

I suggested them to use RED Scarlet, with it being RAW, 4K, etc. But I think they were considering anything DSLR (Nikon D8000) and Canon "Faux" Cinema Camera the C300 :-)

hehe.....most of these guys are told by certain people that red is difficult to handle at post and they backoff from shooting digital entirely......but soon the digital wave from south will hit mumbai too......

nice.....i have a doubt that raaz 3 was also shot in red in 3d....i'm not fully sure.....
