As the headline says, we are currently in the process of constructing our own red dragon...

And it's quite far from what Mr Jannard and Land is trying to do. This one will be an evil beast that flies around and snags people of their rooftop terraces and wil lub the mass consumption in the east. In other words we are creating a CG dragon for a commercial... For now she's work in progress and not textured just yet, hence the red color.

Resolution? Well, far more polygons then you could shake a stick at, LoL...

Head line typo... in the mean time...

Edit updated with the actuall film thats now finnished:

beautiful texturing...is that subsurface scatter I see in the wings?
Well spotted. :)
Actually its our own subsurface scattering plugin for 3dsmax that we developed and are really proud of. It's more simple to use and render faster than anything else. Here is a link to a demo for the sss: http://www.syndicate.se/Default.aspx?Id=296

the dragon are getting kids as well, work in progress, missing it's baby tooth ect.... lol: http://www.syndicate.se/Files/~usr/bee/wipKID.jpg

Hmm, Now we got the children made as well.... this one is named scarlet, Scarlet the dragon.

Has a big head, and big eyes but does not have the fully developed bite as the mother dragon... kind of few and small teeth, Simply a quite little scarlet :)

Here are some behind the scenes pic. I was quite occupied during the shoot as VFX sup. But I also did some Bcam action with the epic in Prag they are all about the alexa studio. And the epic on a dolly with lens only looks like a little toy compared to a fully rigged alexa on a super techno, it's quite amazing that it's actually shooting 16bit, shooting raw, shooting 5k, and yes guys at a higher bitrate than the main camera... Vantage provided the camera gear and we had their hawk V lights over all they have thier shit quite tight together down in Prag. It totally shows that they been doing some major hollywood stuff down there, set design and all was far above spec. Our budget was not the best but I think they over delivered by far, even though with a little bit of a grumpy face at times. But that was quite understandable as they job grow quite heavily in between the budgeting and the making. Also the stunt / wire guys really had thier stuff locked down, normally such things usually do not go smooth at all, but they did their stuff take after take with no issues what so ever and super quick re-rigging time. So if you are about to shoot in the Prag area I can warmly recommend: UNIT + SOFA tel: +420221776711 As a super professional lineproduction company.

Love the "dragons nest" they made. The other set was a rooftop terrass, overviewed by Smuggler LA director Filip Engstrom and his creative producer Nick Fewtrell from the Smuggler London office. The project was DP'ed by Erik Sohlstrom.

We need a skyline, panorama of moscow for this film. Preferably shot with multiple of wide lens r3d's it's quite specific. The sun needs to be at about "half past two and quite low" almost sunset, sunrise. If you are in moscow and got your red. This is a quick and easy way to make some money. If you are up for it please pm me and I send you an offline edit where we have a panorama that the client approved the view for but the light needs to be different / better. and we need more coverage. I think it's fairly east to figure out from what point the image is shot. All we need is like 5se bursts with overlapping framings from a tripod from the given location. we will do the stitching etc. And we will pay you for a days shooting. If you time it right and have luck with the weather goods you will be done within minutes. Just shoot and upload to our ftp.

Thanks.
Those russians really do take bigger turns when they make commercials compared to the more minimalistic stuff we do here in sweden normally. Personally I really like this approach much better. They got a bit more "extra everything" kind of attitude over there that makes working a lot more fun.

well, when I'm looking through your website I get the feeling that you swedes aren't as minimalistic as you say. at least definitely not when compared to the lovely but boring switzerland ;-)

:) I think Sweden and Switzerland are about the same when it comes to commercial work, but we been happy to work with more foreign clients than local. We used to get pretty good work locally but lately not so much. It also shows in Cannes and such, swedish agencies never had as few lions as they did this year. But the production companies scored pretty good but all with work done for none swedish clients.

Hi Bjorn, very impressive stuff. Could you kindly say which graphics package you used - was it Cinema 4D ? Many thanks.
