If a reputable optical filter company was to offer user installable/removable in-dwelling behind-the-lens filters would you want to buy?
A complete kit would comprise :-
Individual filters mounted or clip-in inserts in choices of Clear, ND and IRND of various densities. LC1/8., LC1/4.
Forward offset shim sets for lens mounts and for the lens control conductor pin strips.
Allen keys for the lens mount screws.
Tool for fitting/removing the filters.
Kit box to hold the filters when not in use.
This is a purely hypothetical query. The new Komodo seems to be a good candidate.
I have experimented with a reconstructed broken URSA MINI 4.6K and found it to be doable and useful for keeping the camera as barebones light as it can practically be. I have not studied the throats of Red cameras or the new Komodo so the whole notion might be a foolishness.
