For some reason out of the blue when I try to import an XML it prompts me with something like "5 out of 169 files cant be found" I'll choose to search a certain file, and go to where my footage is. It then gives me errors saying it hasn't found any of my shots. I've tried choosing different sub folders, etc, and nothing helps. I'm missing something aren't I?

Hi, if you are missing just 5 files you are close... just identify the five missing files and find out if the file name or timecode in and out or reel name as per your XML. If these are not in the Media Pool you can manually put them in. If necessary, on the conform page you can select the clip and drag it to the timeline.

Yes, the reel name probably is the culprit. Are those missing shots Canon transcodes by any chance? Identify which shots are missing (Resolve will list then, as the one it can't find), find them in the timeline of FCP, look at the reel name of those shots and, if it's empty, write one in. After that export a new XML and you're done. 5 shots should take you less than 5 minutes to fix.

Well what confuses me is it tells me 5 files, but after i get passed that prompt, the next prompt shows all the shots missing. I'm editing natively in Premiere CS6

I'm editing straight from reel numbers (using media browser to find and grab clips in premiere). Clips will play fine in media pool, just simply has issues linking to those files it seems, although location of files hasnt changed at all over the course of project.

Peter, is that list of missing clips saved in a log file somewhere? I have been resorting to a screen capture to save that info…
