I know, it's a strange thing, to use Scarlets for imag, but I have this peculiar scenario:
i have a client that needs to shoot one event, and he wants to capture it in 4K. So far, so good, we'll be using 3 Scarlet for that. Later he got a request from his client, wanting the picture from the cameras, to be on the big screen.
My question is, can you just take the SDI from the cameras and plug that into a mixer? Will it work or do the cameras need to be in sync?

If you have a "3x(or more) HDSDI mixer" then yes you can patch them all in and cut / desolve in between them on the big screen no problem. the mixer will handle the sync so no need to have timecode or sync running in between cameras.

The SDI out is true progressive which is a pain for a lot of mixers. You can convert te signal using something like a Terranex but is a bit of a pain / extra expensive when you need one per camera feed. Certainly do-able though!
