  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm Confused!

I don't think the original M sensor would handle something like Leo's scene..
the background light was way under exposed to match up as an enviroment for the "strong" match fire that lit his face..
I'm curious to test the MX soon..

you become a good cinematographer...

cameras just capture the image the DP creates...

your footage is only as good as the shot, lighting, set design, costumes, makeup, so on...

IMO that's the ultimate answer.

People should understand that a great image acquiring system is just one factor in the chain.

Good filmmamking is a reunion of competencies.

... well, that would be the perfect answer in a setting where all is created ...

but, then there is an art in observing and perceiving moments ... (or for example the dogma style of doing things) ...
and we should never forget, that the RED technologie, especially in Epic will allow us to do things and work in processes, we have never expected to be cinematically (if thats is a word) fulfilling before ...

I have no doubt,
with Epics in the hand of artists,
we see good movies ... done with MUCH smaller crews ....
much more private, intimate ...

just sayin´ ...
:-)

Detlev, but in dogma you need good actors, and a good director to set the scene into motion and a good DP to frame decently and work with available light.

Even if we strip lots of things that usually get produced, one still needs several competencies to cooperate for a film to achieve excellence in the end...

Dogma is just a different path to get there.

That's how I view it.
