Anyone got their hands on the boxx's wireless unit and compared it to the idx?

I'm close to purchasing a wireless unit and wanna hear some thoughts.

thanks,

yean

We are testing some units for Mark Walker from Boxx Microwave wireless HD, in the next couple weeks.
I will let you know.

Thanks

Good to hear, Michael... I'd love to hear how they stack up against the IDX transmitters. I've been using the IDX transmitters with great success so far.

Same thing, IDX works very good, will see.

Agreed, IDX works and looks great...BUT! It's not so user friendly for the other side of the world. I am on a project shooting 25fps project setting and we get a scrolling image problem on the monitor feed. The only fix is to switch to 23.98 while shooting anything requiring wireless. I have posted about this before with no responses. It happens at 24 fps and 25 fps project settings. 23.98 and 29.97 work fine.

Other than that, I love it.

Is there some kind of breakout box, convertor box, etc. that could fix this?

It is a simple fix and done in the menus of the RED. The monitoring frequency needs to be set to 50i instead of 60i. Can't recall exactly where it is in the menu or what the phrasing is and I'm not by a camera at the moment, but I know that someone else has answered it here on the forum in the past. Not a big deal and it is the fix to the issue.

cant speak for the Boxx, but we are using the IDX system and love it. Just finished a casino shoot and video village was fed wireless the entire shoot with a rock solid signal.

i could wait for a bit for reviews. Boxx dropped their price to sort of match Idxs' and also, it's smaller....
