  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How will the payment method work for Scarlet?

I figured if I were to purchase media and a station before hand that even if I couldn't afford the package it wouldn't be to hard to re-sell as SSD's and a slightly reduced price station would sell pretty quickly over in the sale forum. And this is assuming the total package and or camera body are beyond a certain amount for me.

What would I do for SSD's? Shoot Zac C a message, I know he was looking to split a 4 pack of 64GB. But I'd get a Red Station. I have doubts about that being in the package. And if it is, it's $250 bucks, yes, alot of money but I've had plenty of CF card readers go bad mid-shoot. That is one thing it is never bad to have two of. And I think they're cheap enough. But regardless if it were to come in the package...re-sell it and atleast you have a bomb squad rep pre Nov 3rd, where many will just be getting assigned. Is there an advantage there? Sure, maybe, maybe not...I couldn't tell you. I just always try to plan ahead.

I got lucky, for SSD's I managed to pick one up cheap. I'd watch the For Sale part of the board for more. You can find people splitting 4 packs up, and selling Smaller SSD's they replaced with bigger ones. RED media takes up alot of room. I don't think you should ever limit yourself with media. I think it's wise to have several cards on hand. If you get one before, sell the ones in your package or vice-versa. People will buy them, and quick I'd imagine.

Well If something I ordered is incorrect, they'll work on epic, and I'll be more than able to sell them.

I totally agree, still feel that way. I just got some confidence behind it and decided, this is a company I want to support. Hopefully the 3rd will allow it and if not I'll do as much as I can to make it happen.

If it doesn't well then I'm selling the parts off and continuing to save!
 
I expect the store and any details provided in product listings will be the last thing to be updated

No worries Mark! Welcome aboard. Glad that your 30 year journey is nearing a new beginning.

Just some extra advice. Give yourself 3-4 days for the wired amount to get in there. I started mine today to make sure it was in place come Nov 3.

right, the wire transfer seems to take 3-4 days not counting the weekend. I think the quickest way to get money into my RED account
is my credit card, that should be immediate, I think...

Its nothing wrong with visa. Works well with red.

I looked into using my credit card, they were going to charge me 3% surcharge to make this overseas purchase and currency conversion. For me, it was much cheaper by far to do it via wire transfer.
