Great work!

This adjustment is going down the monitor out too, correct?

Yes.
AFAIK there is separate settings (at least gammas) for SDI/RED monitoring on the "to do" list still (even though I cannot remember seeing any comment to that since Deanan left). So far they are the same...

It goes to everything...

It's a good look for on set monitors... everyone usually tweaks the contrast on our client monitors anyway,
At the end of the day, this is a meta data tweak.. nothing more. Remember, we are shooting raw everyone... This tiny bit of shadow fill in can be turned off when you get to transcode or grading stage.

I've done tests today transcoding without removing the shadow correction.. to be honest, it looks good. But if I'm doing serious grading, I will turn it off and start from a neutral white balance point in REDLOGFILM... The results are always the best that way....

Just got back from watching Prometheus... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK..... stunning picture.
Ridley at his best.

will have to see what this does to my Old Bomb...

Hi guys,
I just finished a shoot with my new OLED and although the colors are bright and clear, the brightness cannot be controlled at all. The buttons on the eyepiece or the LCD/EVF adjustments in the menu do nothing. This makes lighting and viewing (an over lit looking picture) very disconcerting. I'm constantly having to double check my histogram exposures on a monitor which is a pain when working quickly. I'm on 3.0.6, I had second camera which was on 3.0.7 from a rental house, the OLED had no brightness adjustment when plugged into it either. I should add that I have to keep the "focus peaking" on all the time otherwise the eyepiece (and the touchscreen) actually looks a little soft. Any help would be appreciated.

I know it is meta data, but wonder if it will affect the way we expose the shadows since we might see the shadows darker than what they really are, but I guess the good thing is that when we switch to raw to check for exposure then the Flut/shadow will deactivated, right? And then of course we will see milky shadows which is not ideal for judging exposure.

I really hope that even though not doing this FLUT/Shadow adjustment is much better than the old Bomv EVF. I couldnt stand the milky image. That's the only reason I upgraded to the OLED.

Thanks for sharing MArk.

Latest beta includes support for OLED brightness control.

Major improvements in not only quality, colors, blacks (it's not a color), and power consumption and I am wondering why folks are so nitpicky. Everybody will have a different eye and think this or that. Both of my BOMB OLED's are better than my old BOMB EVF.

In any event, I love these, I would own three if I could but that will have to wait.

Not meant to rile anyone up just can't understand the frustration. If you don't like the eye-piece there are other options but file a ticket for support.
