Hi guys how powerful is red cine x at color grading compared to those top programs? Do alot of people (or anyone) use RedcineX exclusively to do professional color grading? Or am I missing the point of RedCineX and it's not really meant for full blown final deliverable CC?

Thanks

thank you rosario balistreri. may I ask though why you would need a "first grade" and why you can't just do the full grade in something as powerful as scratch/resolve? If they are so powerful, why is it necessary to do a 'first grade' in redcinex?

The first grade could be used for give a "look" also when editing.
For example could happen that you shoot for many hours in the same location and the sun light changes. Sometimes the gamma is correct, sometimes no. So in the first grade you try to average it, avoiding the editor or the director worry about continuity and make the cut not noticeable ;)
Usually if you grade from R3D, the first grade will be lost and you can start grading from your raw data.
Or if you are using the Lite Version of Resolve (limited to two nodes) and you make the first color correction on CineX, you have two nodes for grading ;)
